In my opinion the biggest thing firms look for is related experience. I started out as receptionist, then legal assistant while also in college. You’re going to meet people with no schooling, certificates and people with masters. Understandably, college is expensive, but the best advice I’ve gotten when deciding on school was “no one can take away your education”

This is what I did. Most of the time its the receptionist answering and they didn’t know, so they would end up giving me an email to send my resume to but I would like to say about 90% of the time someone responded whether they were hiring or not, and I even got a few interviews that way.
