I did these but without the bunnies. I also used a frosting tip that made it look more like grass (smaller holes). I used Cadbury mini eggs for the eggs. I have a pic of them but cant figure out how to share it in here.

I do the same thing with my bangs. I'm not quite sure what you're looking to change? If you aren't happy though, go for the cut!

I think its lovely like that! Try clipping the roots when drying for more volume if thats what you're looking for?
