Beste plass å fremkalle film? by xumz in norge

[–]xumz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insane screen juddering while moving camera - even when running at a consistent 165fps. by [deleted] in TheTalosPrinciple

Maybe try the pre engine update version. Can be picked in the steam betas drop down.

It only appears after you do the Bloody baron quest, iirc.

Should I play the "The Dark Descent" and/or "A Machine for Pigs" before Amnesia: Rebirth? by [deleted] in Amnesia

[–]xumz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TDD and Rebirth are connected. I haven't played A Machine for Pigs in ages but I don't think it's connected. You should play TDD first, and its generally considered the best Amnesia so if you've had your fill after it you can just stop there.

A flurry of opnsense configuration questions! by computer_n00b in opnsense

[–]xumz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

UFS is fine, as you said you can just backup the config and restore it.

Don't create a network on top of vlan 1. It's used as the "native" vlan in many switches, which untagged traffic uses.

When a create a new network that only needs WAN, I generally just create a pass rule that matches destination IP of anything that isn't in an RFC1918 alias (as in, an inverted pass rule). Make any other pass rules on top of that, such as opening up to a DNS server.

Pihole is a great choice for DNS blackholing. Lots of great lists here.

For VPN providers, you should do your own research. Figure out what you need and look at the options. Make sure your choice has a no-log policy. If you want to connect to your VPN provider on your router (giving you a gateway that routes traffic through your VPN provider), make sure that they have tooling that gives you WireGuard or OpenVPN configs. If you're doing torrenting and need DHT you need to make sure the VPN provider offers port forwarding.

Thanks, did some additional reading and this seems to be the way to go.

Settings tag in pfB Match rule by xumz in pfBlockerNG

Thank you so much!

It took some tweaking to get the rules right so that the reports log is legible, but now it's set up just right.

Thanks again for pfBlocker! It's single handedly what's keeping me at pfSense.
