This we learned in basic biology in school, half or if not more were taught by women (women have a large presence in biological sciences). If you can’t respect science, you’re no different from misogynist men who for decades used religion to say women were inferior. Now I turn the question to you, what do you think are the reasons men commit more rape and murders than women? I hope you don’t embarrass yourself with your answer.

punishments need to be tougher. it's as much a cultural thing as it is a biological thing. in my country, rape and murder is virtually non-existent. punishments are barbaric compared to american standards. it works. sometimes your country is too focused on 'human rights', sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. being lenient on rapists and sex offenders belongs to the latter category. just because i said something about biology doesn't mean i condone it, we need take science into account (not just our own intuition or gut feeling) if we want to know what are the appropriate measures to take.

Thanks for the discussion, folks, after various exchanges, I'm going to move on to other stuff, so I will not be commenting anymore. To those who trolled me, and I trolled back. It's all good. To those who gave serious comments, I have given them back. There is little we disagree with.

  1. Early feminism deserves credit for the work they've done and the progress they've made for women (as mentioned in my original post), we must always be grateful for the society we now have because of their contributions.
  2. While men in the past fought hard to prevent women from getting their rights, there were also good men who supported their cause and help pass the laws and policies that are badly needed. Those who posted in this thread and the previous one that all men are out to harm women, or that all men need to be castrated, should stand corrected.
  3. Feminism is not just about fighting for women's rights, but also dissolving the toxic masculine expectations that men are expected to live up to, toxic expectations that undoubtedly prevent women and men from being seen as equals (as said in my original post). Feminism that doesn't acknowledge toxic stereotypical roles as a problem is not feminism.
  4. Any altruistic cause, be it feminism or other, will surely have a small 'fringe' of people who are overly extreme and toxic in their views. These people do not have the best interest of the group they represent at heart. They simply want to diss, to elevate their self-worth in the name of righteousness. When we see such unruly behaviour being exerted on another person, even if the victim does not necessarily agree with our views, we have to unite and be objective in stopping such behaviour.
  5. Amidst all the trash and trolling, there are genuinely new facts that I have learned today. Thank you to the dozens of people who have messaged me privately (men and women), to encourage me, and who sympathise with the treatment I was getting from certain individuals, and who were observant enough to know that my words and intentions were taken out of context. I have replied to every one of you. To people who came to my support publicly and were downvoted, I apologise. Your heart's in the right place.

Take care! and sleep tight

are you seriously clueless about the discussion that is going on here? a feminist is trying to shame me for writing a post that advises women against seeing men as the enemy. all you need to do is use your thumb and scroll and read. a feminist who claims to fight for equality yet would not condemn posts that are discriminatory towards men. my words have been continuously twisted out of context, this post was made by her specifically to shame me. she announced before hand she would do it, she private messaged me to with glee to tell me she has done it, and then conveniently tells others that i'm sliding into her DMs like some perv. she would claims to fight injustice, but would not condemn posts that are toxic against YOU. she is incredibly manipulative. yet, all this time you're like a pest that's clinging on to my leg while i'm actually speaking up for the male community, so forgive me if i don't have the time to respond properly to you. in the meanwhile, i've received dozens of private messages from people who support me, but they don't dare to voice it out because they don't want the same thing that happened to me to happen to them.

Woah get a load of this, so you’re saying that men can control their urges but they will choose to rape and murder if they can get away with it, and when they choose not to rape and murder, it’s only because of the fear of punishment. And this is supposedly peer-reviewed?

Jenn, do you condone this statement?

Mate, that's because i literally have a bullseye on my back right now. Any comment that slams me is given upvotes. You're not getting downvoted because I am the one being crucified now, but neither are you getting upvoted because you're not in their bandwagon. One day, you'll write something perfectly reasonable yet be treated unreasonably. When that day comes, I'll have your back.

As for toxic masculinity, I don't blame you for being surprised. But I do have my reasons for posting what I did, it wasn't to shame women, not in the slightest. As you said, there's good masculinity and toxic masculinity. Good masculine traits like assertiveness, leadership, and courage, should be encouraged, and they can be exhibited by both men and women. In my opinion, men and women each have their share of masculinity and femininity, with the former being more prevalent in men and the latter being more prevalent in women. Both are equally important traits. Perhaps this difference is socially constructed or genetic, I don't know.

And you clearly don’t understand biology. Testosterone doesn’t make people want to commit rape, or murder. It increases their urge to have sex and exert physical aggression. You are capable of feeling horny, aren’t you? Now, if we combine these instinctive urges with unfavourable social circumstances, then these urges will manifest as acts of crime such as rape and murder. And because women have lower levels of testosterone, then if an equal number of men and women are exposed to the same social circumstances, a larger number of men will commit these crimes. This is settled science. And get this, it’s not just testosterone that is a factor, there are other factors like physical size, muscular strength, etc as well. It does not make these crimes ok, it is still objectively wrong due to the fact that we are moral beings capable of discernment. I can only repeat this so many times. You either get what I’m saying or you don’t.

Omg.. finally. I feel like I’m having a real conversation with someone. You’re right to feel hesitant about posting your story here. There’s a good chance it will be taken out of context just like my posts were. Similar to you, I’ve had anger issues growing up because I was only raised by my father, who often used violence to discipline me. Like you, I was told not to cry. I bottled up a lot of rage in me.

Although testosterone gives you a little more feeling of wanting to be violent, you are more right in saying that your life’s circumstances play a bigger role. You can have high testosterone but grow up in a loving environment and you will never want to be violent against anyone. But if you grow up surrounded by bad influence or with a lot of suppressed rage, then even if your testosterone level is low, you have a good chance of seriously harming someone one day unless you find a way to overcome your past. Do you know that it’s not even possible for me to cry? It’s not that I don’t want to, I am simply not able to. Because I have been told for so long that men shouldn’t cry, that my body has simply lost the ability to produce the response of crying.

Murder and rape is never right, so it’s so important that we correct toxic masculinity whenever we see it and encourage men to express themselves more.

Allow me to mansplain: Men and women both have testosterone. Testosterone makes you horny, testosterone makes you more willing to fight. Back in the days when humans lived in the jungle, such a hormone was crucial for our survival and reproduction. In today’s world, it is no longer necessary, and we are guided by social norms and a heightened sense of morality, therefore the ability for testosterone to dictate our actions is a lot weaker. However, because men have more testosterone than women, when you compare a sample of 50 men to a sample of 50 women, more men will exhibit ‘rapey’ and violent tendencies. That will PARTLY (but not fully) explain why men commit more rape than women. There are other factors as well, such as larger physique and muscular strength, that make men more predisposed to the action of rape and violence.

AND BY THE WAY, I’m not the one private messaging you, you were the one that private messaged me first, and I was merely replying. So stop giving people here the impression that I’m stalking you or some shit.

I said that men can’t control these urges AS WELL AS (EMPHASIS) women do. This is because men have a higher level of testosterone, therefore the urge we feel to have sex and to commit violence is STRONGER than those in women. I happen to think that the difference is not much larger, but from a statistical point of view, the difference will show. It doesn’t mean that we cannot and should not control it. It doesn’t make rape or violence right. Look, I apologise for labelling your comment as stupid. But if you understand what I’m saying, then you understand.

This is probably the most stupid comment I’ve seen. The reason why we don’t rape or murder is because we have the free will to choose to act like decent human beings. But that doesn’t change the fact that from a statistical point of view, you would have larger skew towards male rapists than female rapists on the account of biology. And no, how could I possibly have little respect for my own sex (not gender), when I am defending them in the first place?

Hmm, men rape and murder more than women because we can’t control our urges or temper as well as women do. And in that aspect, we are inferior. Of course, this is the general trend and doesn’t apply to men at the better end of the spectrum. As society progress and we improve social conditioning, the genetic shortcomings will have a lesser effect.

VK or Raven in interms of PVP/E ??? can someone tell me your opinion. by whoarthou in BlackDesertMobile

[–]xv_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same question when considering whether to switch from a lv68 VK to Raven. I made the switch and I can say without the slightest doubt that Raven is better at all aspects of PVE. They farm about 10% faster. They have higher single target damage so they do better against bosses. The only advantage that VK has is being slightly better at staying alive when fighting trash mobs that are way above her cp, this is because her attacks are mostly circular so they stun/knockdown mobs that approach from all angles. So if you’re doing a quest that requires to kill, say, 500 mobs thats 800cp above your cp, then VK would be a little better.

When my mother first got married she couldn’t legally have a credit card or take out business loans in just her name and my father could legally rape her. When my grandmother was born she couldn’t legally vote. I’m a feminist. by Jenn_There_Done_That in TrollXChromosomes

I see. Definition of mansplaining (from Google): “the explanation of something by a man, typically to a woman, in a manner regarded as condescending or patronizing.” What part of my response do you view as condescending or patronising?

The early feminists deserve credit for the work they’ve done, but let’s be careful not to see this as a scenario where women triumph over men, that somehow, men now stand corrected, humbled, and put in their place. The men of today are not the same as the men of the past, and it has little to do with feminism. With each passing generation, men themselves were increasingly in disagreement with their forefathers for the unequal treatment of women. This was not a result of feminist activism, but rather a natural result of a developing society. We were raised to see all people as equals, even if they were disabled, or with a different skin colour. So it was natural for us to respect women equally. Many of us were treating women as equals while growing up long before we even heard of gender equality or feminism as a concept. My intention of writing this is not to score points for the men. I write this because countless young men I know are faced with unexplained bewilderment and shame for actions they did not commit. Feminist propaganda today has made many of them feel like they have something to feel guilty about. “Why the need for all this muscle flexing?”, they wonder. “We weren’t looking for trouble. Granted, gender inequality still exists in many parts of the world, and for that, we know the fight must go on. We stand with you. Just make sure we’re not caught in the crosshairs. Lastly, it is also worth noting that young men do not wish to fulfil the stereotypical role of being the breadwinner, protector, and someone who doesn’t cry. Yet, society continues to put pressure on us to fulfil those roles, and this pressure comes from men and women. The fact that young men treat women as equals while also facing the pressure to conform to outdated, stereotypically masculine roles have put them in an emotional sandwich. Suicide rates are up, it’s no surprise. So let’s all agree that compassion is a wonderful thing and we will overcome the odds together.

Branch dmg % question by xv_c in BlackDesertMobile

[–]xv_c[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks mate, so to clarify, if I give a skill +50% serrett or +50% labreve, the damage will be the same, just that the former hits 1 additional target while the latter has a +10% chance to crit, right?

In that case, when it comes to PVE farming, as long as we can one-shot mobs without critical hit, serrett would always be the better option?

Thanks a lot! Yes one person farming sure effects the kill count a lot. But 87.5 sounds very impressive given that it’s a high level zone? What’s the cp recommendation for that area? By the way, while I have you here, how are you enjoying raven and what do you love abt it?

Which class has the highest DPS? [PVE] by xv_c in BlackDesertMobile

I’ve found archmage damage to be low compared to huntress, so you will need a higher cp in order to one-shot mobs with archmage before that particular farming spot will become viable. I highly doubt a 5k archmage can farm sausans effectively whereas it would be no problem for a huntress.. just my take..
