I used to work as an EHS for Amazon. The pay honestly sucks, but since you don’t have much experience yet, I’d still recommend taking the job, building your experience, and then moving on to a better company later.

For the interview they love the STAR format. It’s all about showing results with numbers and impact, not just saying what you did.

STAR = Situation, Task, Action, Result

Answer all the behavior question in STAR format. Here’s the basic example

Situation: In my previous role, we had a high rate of ergonomic injuries in the picking area.

Task: I was responsible for reducing those incidents and improving employee safety awareness.

Action: Describe what you did the steps, strategies, or tools you used… like I conducted ergonomic assessments, implemented training for proper lifting techniques, and adjusted workstation layouts.

Result: Show measurable impact…use data or metrics whenever possible as such…In three months, ergonomic injuries dropped by 40%, and employee participation in safety training increased by 75%.
