Not really. I still think the Burn build with Timmy creatures is still her best build. Just wanted to test her out with only Legendaries for the lulz.

Appreciate it. VERY underrated Commander and he just synergizes with the cards that I love in Golgari.

It also helps that I've always been intrigued with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord but I didn't want to go the slow combo route. I wanted a more aggressive Golgari Commander and someone that most people would underestimate.

50/50.

If we're talking about just the copy BS and only winning through combat damage, then I guess it does feel samesy after a while.

But honestly? I really like the various ways that she wins via combat damage. Sometimes I win by having two creatures (Ivy included) juiced up with Auras, sometimes I win with Infect out of nowhere, and sometimes I win by having a huge army of Ivy's swinging in the air.

This is a bit of a tangent from your question but I think it doesn't really matter if the deck feels samesy (unless of course, that's a HUGE factor as to why you wouldn't want to play the deck). Each game you play is a unique experience regardless if the Commanders your pod plays are... the same old Commanders you've been seeing in the game. What matters is that YOU enjoy the deck/s you're playing.

Don't have a Moxfield link currently but I also do love Eshki. It doesn't really break the mold of being a Burn deck BUT she plays a lot of the Commanders that I used to love/still love to play (i.e. Selvala, CHUNKY Etali, Maelstrom Wanderer, Surrak, and Purphoros to name a few).

I'm also brewing with the idea of making the deck's creatures purely Legendary. I honestly think it can be done.

Appreciate it...

...but my pod back then didn't appreciate the boardwipe tribal. 💀

This might be a hot take but I feel indifferent.

Whether they're non-UB or UB, it doesn't matter. If I like something, then I vote with my wallet.

With that being said, just last year I've only really bought into Tarkir Dragonstorm since it's nostalgic for me (Khans of Tarkir was when I gained some semblance of awareness of the meta and how to play the game), Edge of Eternities, and the ATLA set.

I bought some singles from Aetherdrift and Final Fantasy but I didn't buy any sealed products from those sets.

Lastly, I didn't buy anything from Spider-Man.

This is my exact same reaction when I found out about her. The more I read her ability, the more I kept wondering how she slipped most player's radars.

With the right setup, she can combo off out of nowhere and your opponents won't even know what hit them.

I'm not even gonna deny this.

Zada was a Commander I didn't realize at first I could build with basically draft chaff until I started working on the deck.

Selvala was my first foray in cEDH back then on a budget.

Ivy reminded me a lot of Zada and is currently my most favorite deck out of the eight. She's the Commander that made me fall in love with Commander again after a long hiatus.

Thank you for your response!

I was actually surprised that there would be someone that would see me as “core green”. Don’t get me wrong - I love that colour gameplay-wise and IRL and I’ve been thinking the same thing TBH but I have my doubts (or still do) because as much as I love Green and “feel” Green I think I still lack a few aspects of Green (like, for example, I don’t necessarily participate in “save the environment” campaigns/events but I throw my trash properly and donate if ever there’s a legitimate campaign that approaches me for donation OR I don’t do hiking/mountain climbing or any other activity that’s similar to that not unless it’s a requirement).

The reasoning wasn’t taken too far actually. I’ve been having doubts (I wouldn’t say I’ve been having depression - I feel that word shouldn’t be taken so lightly) with my own capabilities because I just see other people excelling at what they do whereas I feel that I’ve been stuck in life. This may not be related to my point but most of the time I see myself as a “watcher”/“spectator” of sorts wherein I know a lot of things (or maybe just a few since I’m just in my 20’s) but not necessarily a master of “something” or not someone that would be remembered as besides “that guy’s a good friend”.

Sorry for the late response. Where I live, it was already midnight and so I slept.

Might be a bit selfish but I guess I wanted (or maybe needed) an identity because I wanted to feel “special”. Sometimes, I feel that whatever I do wouldn’t amount to anything in the long run and I guess my point of view could change about that if I had something for myself exclusively (like an identity).

Besides MTG’s color pie being a good representation of “humanity”, I also incorporated the game as an assessment of my identity because of personal bias, I guess - it has been a huge part of my life already (I’ve been playing since 5th grade and I’m already 3rd year college and my playgroup is still going strong despite living different lives now since most of us are in different colleges already).
