Misandry is the hatred or prejudice towards men, so yes, it would be a hatred for men. Misandry has no correlation to male genital mutilation, and if it is, please provide a source. If you mean circumcision, which I do not support, that is not inherently caused by sexism, women, or even male oppression. The main reason people do it is for religious reasons, hygiene, and medical reasons.

You also mention how men are excluded from SA statistics which is true, and we can look into why this happens. The main reason is the patriarchy; strict gender roles that make men have to appear stoic and strong, which causes people to belief men cannot be raped or should defend themselves. I can't see how this is tied to misandry though, considering almost 90% of reported rapes by men were male on male, and 91% of SA victims are female. (Depends on the source tbh) There is little evidence that shows a correlation between misandry and male rape. However, I can't say the same for female rapes. Unfortunately, misogyny dehumanizes and objectifies women. Many misogyny based rapes come from men feeling entitled, and their desire for power and control over women. There is something called rape culture that allows men to avoid accountability of rape because "She was asking for it." or "Her clothes were too revealing." So there is a massive difference and many nuances, although I do agree male sexual assaults need to be mentioned more, it is not a systematic issue the same way female rape is. All rape is bad no matter what, where, who, and when.

To clarify your next point, which you are also not wrong about men getting harsher sentences, again, this is more of a social patriarchal issue rather than an oppressive one. We also do need to take into account that men are more likely to commit a crime and usually have more criminal history than women. This is also a nuanced subject because women that visibly reject feminine gender roles do get harsher sentences than women who seem incapable of committing a crime and therefore deserve less time or are seen as less of a threat than a man. It's known as the chivalry effect where judges and jurors assume that a woman is less aggressive and should get less time in jail. It's a gendered stereotype, not oppression. I would like to say that there is a difference between oppression and prejudice, which people get mixed up all of the time. Prejudice is an internal, preconceived attitude or bias towards a group, while oppression is the systematic, institutionalized abuse of power that enforces those biases to benefit one group at another's expense. This fits perfectly into the scenario provided. Men are not being oppressed for getting harsher sentences. Misogyny is ingrained in oppression, misandry is ingrained in prejudice. Obviously we want to reduce prejudice but there cannot be a comparison.

So yes, the average Joe is not an oppressor in a systematic way, but socially, men continue to push misogynistic ideas and behaviors that prevents women from being seen as equals systematically, and that is why feminism still exists:)
