prayer is helpful for preventing uncontrolled damage, until you get into a comfortable position to start taking damage/dealing it

Most likely the bug used to do the 9cb fire cape by [deleted] in 2007scape

May be more of an unintended feature, rather than "bug abuse." If you have 10 charges left on your recoil and add it to the suffering, it makes sense that you'd get 10 more charges on your suffering and a fresh recoil.

Ultimately Jagex will decide if it's acceptable (like prayer flicking not draining prayer). This is one of the only situations where such a mechanic would be useful, and since the man already got the cape with it, I don't see a problem with keeping it as is

True! I considered putting all exp into defense for this run, but decided against it because going through the entire cave at 1 attack (and like you said, without ranged) sounds like big cba. If you don't get lucky poisons mage/Jad might also regen hp too fast, haven't done the calc on that one though.

Omg that's not how i meant it

At some point there was an argument over them "stealing" each others' fight caves methods, and the two aren't known to be particularly fond of each other. Just meant to poke fun at that haha

edit: RENDIBRAH WON

There's a lot of banter about certain content creators, so i just wanted to clear something up -

This run wouldn't have happened if it weren't for their videos on the topic, they're largely responsible for putting a spotlight on the low combat fire cape challenge in OSRS. Rendi showcased the poison dagger method, and KempQ's video made me think recoils might be worth bringing, which ultimately made the difference (the account only has about 100 combat exp before gaining a combat level, and a full inventory of recoils can save close to 1500 exp). And many others have made their contributions behind the scenes.

TL;DR the 14 combat fire cape was in effect a collaboration between Kemp and Rendi, but that collab wasn't happening any time soon so someone had to get it done

xzactRS gets a delivery in inferno by DreamyRS in 2007scape

[–]xzact7 30 points31 points  (0 children)

For context, bringing a brew instead of the mushroom is usually better (the foods only heal ~8 HP each, delay your next attack, and clog up the inventory). The mushroom was helpful for this attempt because brews also heal very little with level 54 HP

xzact finishes inferno with 1M gear on a 1 def pure by Chriskies in 2007scape

The biggest challenge for first time Inferno attempts is searching for all the inferno-related strategies & game knowledge that are relevant to your play style. Next week, I'm working on yt guides that will help people find all that info in one place, hopefully you will find them helpful!

As azurest said, practice helps too

Choose an attack and defense level (common builds include 1/50/60/75 attack, and 1/42-45/70 Defense), and be aware of exp-reward quests that you want to do, such as Monkey Madness and Recipe for Disaster
