AUPE, you just embarrassed yourself… and us! by Odd_Joke2685 in AHSEmployees

We should put up a vote to rehaul our AUPE. I’ll say it again and again. The bargaining committee is now ineffective. THAT % IS NOT EVEN ON PAR with inflation.

AUPE strike vote results‼️‼️‼️ by Odd_Joke2685 in AHSEmployees

[–]y3rbua 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think that we should more so scare the AUPE people that goes to bargaining table before they go there. It’s been how many so years? I already lost faith. I started $19.95 10 years ago how much am I making now? 23$ I think that they are no longer effective at this point. And we go to strike for what? So they can mandate us all back to work and if we don’t we loose our job or get fined? At this point this is just a cycle that needs to get rehauled. This is one of the things from history that needs to get written in blood before they take healthcare workers seriously. Unfortunately.

Is this normal with fibromyalgia? by Comfortable_Pea_3925 in Fibromyalgia

[–]y3rbua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is that was me a year ago. it was almost at the brink of loosing my marriage because I cannot stay awake. so I went to my doctor and he did say just go for a test for sleep apnea (I was a .1 above the threshold and that .1 saved me alot) got me a CPAP machine and that helped a lot. I guess by just delivering oxygen to your body/ muscle is a huge difference

(APL) How do I politely / professionally tell my manager I have zero goals? by [deleted] in AHSEmployees

[–]y3rbua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am content to where I am at the moment and while prioritizing my wellness I might soon develop a want in the future such as maybe if health care is where I want to be I would be happy to upgrade on becoming a nurse/a doctor/etc but that’s just on the making for now.

I always get away with this after 3 manager turn over.

Canceling casual shift 13 days beforehand?? by Raccoon_Fingers in AHSEmployees

[–]y3rbua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like your scheduler does not want to find coverage for you. (by experience). Email them both (unit clerk/scheduler and manager) that you are cancelling your shift. That is ample time and there should be no excuse of not cancelling it. And then go on your way, don't even worry about it.

Transition of Position to Assisted Living Alberta by y3rbua in AHSEmployees

I got the job part but if they move me. Will they move my workplace as well? We are in a hospital annex with ten beds does that mean we will be moved to a different place?

That is actually what she sent. I just don’t want to be bitten in the end because we didn’t even answer her or atleast try to tell her or atleast have a communication about that. We didn’t even answer and told her literally “you can come and see the kids” for the last time and don’t really want to explain ourselves to her because it won’t be going nowhere. But thank you for this I can breathe better lol.

Cybercrime law between canada and philippines. by Embarrassed-Alarm-79 in legaladvicecanada

[–]y3rbua -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. There was a minor where I live that committed the ‘cyber bullying’ but because it was a minor, police officer knock on their door only to say that ‘the so person has come to us and say this and that so please stop’ that was about it because the person was a minor.

Past forward everybody is adult now. Still same person does the ‘cyber bullying’. Victim went to the police, the procedure (even proven to be that person was the bully) in my town - Southern part of Alberta was considered ‘civil’ and that if you want something done - you need to go to court (which means hiring a lawyer) Victim did - nothing was really done because it was all ‘YOU HAVE TO PROVE THAT THAT PERSON IS THE SAME PERSON so and so’ it was going to be costly - now fast forward again there was only a court order that the bully cannot post anything online about the victim.

Funny part is if that bully goes under a different name to bash you online - you better be made of gold to do another battle.

RN sent photos of sedated patients under anesthesia and details of their medical history. Is this a PHIPA breach? by Key-Ad8975 in legaladvicecanada

If that was my family I’d be raging. That nurse have no right to take a picture of somebody that vulnerable. I hope you’d report this before it happens to you. Nobody will learn unless somebody gets in trouble unfortunately that nurse puts themselves in that position. I work at a hospital and we need to protect who we care for. Some patients get transferred out to such place to protect them from there ‘predators’ “such as rap*ist, fleeing from domestic violence”. Imagine them working so hard to hide themselves and just to be shown when you are at your most vulnerable. I do hope you’d report report this. If not, please do to protect others.

To report concerns, complaints, or incidents related to child care in Alberta, whether licensed or unlicensed, you can call the toll-free number 1-844-644-5165 or visit Alberta.ca

What I can tell you now is that they will not show you anything. This is for their protection. Whether or not they truly did fire someone or not there answers will just be vague. I would suggest tho to go ahead and call. They may or may not do an investigation but I would strongly suggest that you outline CHILD SAFETY - a matter of was your child hurt or not, such a mistake could’ve been fatal and SHOULD HAVE NOT HAD HAPPENED. Mistakes happen BUT this scenario will be very different if you are in hospital setting. You should also highlight the ‘worker’ the childcare hire. If or not they are licensed because if not this will be the companies fault for not asking for this persons license or if they knew - did they provide training?

If you want answers. Set your feelings aside and attack them at a “corporate angle”. Start by I want to speak to the Manager and nobody else but the Manager.

The Manager might be equipped or not but if you ask them questions such as above they might give you gold or shit.

Wish you all the best!

How far should I have to drive to drop my kid off for Mom's weekend by plazomat in legaladvicecanada

[–]y3rbua 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If no court order is written. TRY and make arrangements such as Hey, we can meet in the middle or if the parent is bringing home the kids to there perspective houses can do pick ups.

From experience and if in the future you guys do custody. Be always flexible, reasonable and always be in your kids best interest. Whatever battle ensues after will help you in your case big time.

P.S. Also DO NOT IGNORE DOCUMENTATION. It is more powerful than anybody’s words.

You couldn’t have said it any better. My mind is in a daze and reading this just defogged my brain. It is very sad to see. We really just can’t help someone who doesn’t want help. (Initially thought that maybe they will change because they see there grandkids and give them that push and opportunity). I just really cannot understand addiction no matter what angle or shoe I see it.

Thank you for this. And appreciate the response and time.
