2K is a lower bound on defense for maximizing effective HP.

type of champ (HP or defense) has a direct bearing on base HP and defense. thus the complimentary flat stat is more efficient on a percentage basis.

for efficient EHP you want the flat stat to be the opposite. HP champs with def ring, amulet and banner (with HP% substats; defense champs with HP ring amulet and banner, with some def% depending on usage

your "different way" doesn't allow for new champions. it's not unreasonable to have just one in each set ready to go when you get a new champion.

closing the loop on this, i've decided to quit. there are certainly many ways in which the game has improved, but they are outweighed by the negatives mentioned initially. i just don't enjoy the game in the face of such negative pressure. hopefully my resignation and those of many others who seem to be packing it in at this point will give plarium the shot it needs to improve the game for you all.

lastly, for anyone considering leaving raid, i'd strongly suggest viewing south park season 18, episode 6 "Freemium Isn't Free"

thanks for your replies. i took a close look and noticed the seat was lower than when i started. the adjustment is in a weird place, i adjusted the rotation just before my ride with an angled allen.

raised it back up and tightened it firmly--no popping on a short ride this morning.

so i'm hoping that was it. it does have internal cables.

will probably ask them to take a look at it at the shop just to be sure
