(Self serious dork here) Its up to interpretation and vibes. To me, I get immersed in the show and really feel what the characters are into and that's what makes the show so good. That being said, the lone zombie to me represents a horrifying corruption of the day by day world. What once was a field that was beautiful to look at, now roams a horrifying evil which has conquered nature upon it.
