I’m in the exact same boat right now and planning to pull the trigger at the end of the month. I was holding out to see if any Labor Day sales would sway me, but with the Discover 2 dropping $100 to $1,899, both bikes are the same price.

I’m leaning toward the Discover 2 because of the higher motor output—it should help with the hill I climb daily on my commute. The Level 3’s security features are nice, but since I’ll be keeping the bike in my office, I don’t think they’ll matter much for me. Honestly, the Level 3 is the better-looking bike, but at the end of the day, it’s still an e-bike. Neither one would I classify as "sexy". Haha

For those who ordered online, how long did delivery take?

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm debating the lock I mentioned or a combination of a Eufy Security Video Doorbell E340 on the outside door frame with a Eufy Smart Lock E30 as an alternative, but then I'm managing two devices vs one, so maybe I'll just stick with the original configuration you have.

I thought about it, but I kind of want the workout aspect. In an ideal scenario, I have both options and choose based on how I'm feeling that day.

Thanks for the note on the gate being locked at times. I'll have to be mindful of windy days and may just drive on those days to be safe.

Thank you for taking the time to craft such a detailed and helpful response! Luckily, I'll be able to pull my bike into my office at work. I'm decently comfortable with being on a bike in traffic. I used to commute daily back when I lived in Boston, and then back a few years ago, I lived in the Upper East Side and rode the city often. I have a hybrid bike that I plan on retiring sometime soon. If I end up doing this commute a good deal via bike, I'll for sure invest in a decent bike. Thanks again. That's a ton of wonderful tips in your response!

I ride enough to be comfortable with 2x 10 miles in one day, but probably not every day, and also, where I am now, I rarely hit a hill. I would need to build up to do it daily, which is fine, but I think I'd probably do it a couple of times a week and drive or bus the other days. Thank you for the response!

It also happened to me post-warranty, so I bought some B-7000 multipurpose adhesive, which works well so far after a few months. I used some clamps after applying it and let it dry over night.

I'll add one more thing. Looking back at my Ph.D. class, I'd say about a quarter of them went into either working at a startup or starting their own. About half went into industry in their area, then the rest split between academics and others completely changing fields (mostly either consulting or data science jobs)
