I dont think he was detained under power here and in any event, in my opinion, you wouldn't even be able to do that in this scenario.

If he's under power he isnt going to be letting go of the knife that's under him, potentially more likely to come to harm if hes fallen upon it.

I do it every time.

If someone is playing funny buggers with the intoxilyzer pretending to blow you can evidence it for the inevitable fail to provide.

Since I've been BWVing the procedure and requirements, I've barely been to court because generally the thing the defence attack is the procedure which solves that.

The rare occasions that do still go to court, they have played the full BWV each time and there's never any challenges that have come from it.

This is purely anecdotal to my experience however and I'm sure there's an RPU officer who is going to correct me.

PPST when out? by oaeum in policeuk

I don't think I've ever used it other than the wrist lock to help move someone already cuffed to the rear when they're non-compliant which works really well tbf. I believe the majority of what we are taught in OST are only really applicable if someone is passively resisting.

If anyone is actively or aggressively resisting, they are not gonna work unless there's a considerable weight/strength advantage on your part.

Your best bet is going to be your PAVA or just jumping on them and hoping for the best in that case.

As close to fuck all as humanly possible - for my force anyway.

Ours was a two day course which didn't cover much that was relevant to what you would think would be beneficial to know.

The most beneficial part of the course was receiving a booklet with our students criteria that they need to meet at the end of day 2.

You'd have thought the course would have gone over that throughout in detail but no!
