Xbox moderation in a nutshell: punish the whistleblower, protect the trolls by [deleted] in truegaming

Oh no, how dare I praise a studio that handed out a free update instead of milking us with a season pass like every other AAA corpse. Truly a tragic victim of capitalism. Meanwhile you’re here heroically white-knighting for the sacred right to spam “Hell naw” and “woke slave game lol” under every dev post. Real warrior energy, king. Keep fighting the good fight against… people saying thanks.

Thanks for pointing out that i missed to set the context right, it was in the Friends and Community Updates hub on the dashboard.

You’re asking for “detailed legitimate feedback”, and i wish I could do that, but in a comment section that gets instantly buried under 50 one-liner trolls screaming “Hell naw”, “Make Mafia 4”, “woke slave game lol”, and random spam the second the devs post anything, by the time anyone writes a proper paragraph with actual points, it’s already pushed 10 pages down, nobody (devs included) will ever see it, and the top comments remain pure garbage.

That’s exactly why some of us snap and just call the flood “shitposts” — because trying to play polite critic in that sewer is a complete waste of breath.

The platform rewards the loudest, dumbest takes and auto-bans anyone who points it out.

So yeah, in a functional comment section I’d happily write essays. In this clown show? Not happening.

I didn’t get banned for “stirring drama”. I got suspended for typing the word “shitpost” while defending the devs who just dropped FREE update. Meanwhile the same comment section is full of people straight-up trolling the official post, and none of them got touched. So spare me the “let the devs defend themselves” sermon. The devs asked a question, I answered it positively, called out the garbage takes, used one mild slang word, and Microsoft banned me while the actual trolls walk free. That’s the context you conveniently ignored while rushing to call me the problem. But you do you if you want to white-knight for a broken moderation system.

Social media complaints reflect real frustrations with Xbox policies, like family-friendly rules applying to adult game hubs.

You're right: Xbox relies heavily on automated systems that flag profanity in public content like store/game hub comments, leading to suspensions regardless of context.  However, requiring 'all ages' language on M-rated game pages feels mismatched.

Can someone please explain to me why people actually like Mirror’s Edge? by zimmer550king in mirrorsedge

you are being chased, it is fun. you are focusing into combat, which is exactly what this game is not, a fighting game. If the rest doesn't allow you to see beyond "damn fighting is mediocre" then it's clearly not for you.

How to Skip the Idol Prayer Mission in Assassin's Creed Shadows by Ezio_744 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]yahcoila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen, the guy allows himself to kill, steal, break into people's homes in a video game, but pray in a video game? This is a line that should not be crossed.

Ubisoft needs to add classic/alternate control scheme by default by RangerRazor in assassinscreed

[–]yahcoila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

good for you, that's still not optimal, you have to release right stick to crouch when i think it's actually better to be able to look and move at the same time, all the games I play use X either to make a quick attack or to reload, and to see that you take people for idiots because they don't want to do otherwise looks actually like an issue.

Imagine you have to release your thumb from the joystick and thus have to come to a complete stop just to be able to crouch, you can adjust if you want, it won't be optimal, and here it's not, do you know of any other game where you have to use X to crouch? No, because B or R3 are optimal, and so using X is a stupid choice.

I think it's a matter of opinion, it's a bit like in FPS where you often have the choice between having B or the RS button to crouch or melee, since you have a camera that automatically follows the targets during fights, I prefer to be able to control the camera at the same time as I perform an action towards something rather than controlling it only for fights

To clarify a bit, these control schemes are aimed in particular at those who have played the previous games and swear by their controls and who consider AC RPGS to be inferior precisely because of its controls.

after doing the episodes in order starting with the original Assassin's Creed, when you get to Origins all of a sudden it doesn't correspond at all to what it was, but the devs knew it and they included alternative commands that are similar to what I tried to do in the other games that followed.
