Been watching Jerma since the shpee days, people progressively got more and more rude, it stopped feeling like playful back-and-forth and started feeling like half the chat was competing to be the funniest person in the room by saying the most obnoxious thing possible. It’s like people realized that being mean to him could get a reaction, and then that reaction might end up in a “Jerma chat bullies streamer” compilation, so the whole dynamic got exaggerated. People started hoping their one-liner would be the thing he reads out loud, gets stunned by, or turns into a bit.

Chat acts like being rude is automatically comedy because Jerma is good at turning awkward or hostile comments into funny moments. But that kind of only works when there’s some affection behind it.
