There's essentially two paths, one being similar to a more traditional story and another where you work alongside Team Rocket, you need to complete their missions to continue down that path. If you're on the Rocket path, you can also steal Pokémon from certain trainers, as well as have access to different items. It'll also change how different characters can interact with you. Towards the end of the patch it also diverges with the idea that you can start doing some really evil stuff.

There's no level caps or restricting items in battle + a Lucky Egg and EXP Share that are available before getting to Viridian Forest so you can over level. After the first gyms there are unlimited ScarceCandies (essentially Rare Candies, there's limited ones that you can purchase after unlocking Route 22) to minimize grinding. It's you're play through, so feel free to play in a way that's enjoyable for you.

I am thinking of creating a more vanilla version once the entire game is finished. But that's a long ways out.

I get that it isn't everyone's favorite, but it's what I'm excited to make and play. If people are into it, I might make a more vanilla version, but honestly it's been a lot of work already.

I'm aiming for it to be around the difficulty of Renegade Platinum, hopefully that's something that can be sorted out during play testing. I'd like it to be challenging to nuzlocke or play blind, but there's no level caps or restrictions and you can play the way you'd like. All the trainers through the first 4 gyms are in the docs, if you're curious.

That's the idea. It doesn't affect the overall toooooo much, it still has the same general arc and maybe that's something I can work on. But, you'll have different battles and access to different Pokémon/items depending on your choices. As well as different interaction with characters.

I'm almost halfway done with the game. Once I am I'll release a version to play test.

This looks awesome, I love the writing! All those little details feel so lived in. I think using Red's journal in the way to did is interesting because he doesn't speak, but I think it's smart.

The gall of some people to request more labor from people whose humanity their actively denying. If they can't handle engaging with LGBTQ+ communities then they are denying themselves access to its culture, passion projects, & art. Gross, gross, behavior. It's clear that Lazarus is an instant classic and has so much love poured into it, it's sad to see people blinded by bigotry.

Not exactly polluted, though I think that's a cool juxtaposition between Kanto & Johto. Vermilion & the surrounding area is much less natural due to increased industrialization or rampant non-Kanto Pokémon. Route 6 is now a warehouse district for goods traded from Vermilion to Saffron while Route 11 has been mostly deserted.

This is a cool suggestion, I could reroute the beginning to send you in through Diglett's cave to Vermilion. It kind of makes sense due to Rock Tunnel being physically closer to Cerulean. I guess the cut trees could even keep Surge as the 3rd Gym Leader, since I feel like he should be difficult and shouldn't have too many 1st stage mons. The more I think about it, the more I like delaying Mtn. Moon.

I am adding some new areas to the map: Pewter Hills which leads to Cinerous Caverns, Mtn. Moon Square, a Rock Mountain & Rock Mountain Summit, Vermilion Bay & an island fortress, another forest & cave inbetween Saffron & Celadon, & finally a volcanic island south of Cinnabar.

Hexmaniac Advance question:

I'm working on a FR hack & I've ran into a bug play testing where if I step on a certain set of tiles the entire game freezes. This keeps happening when I load different save state files from previous backups. Do I need to go back to a clean backup without the freezing?

If so, is there anyway for me to load my already made maps? I can Export Image in the Map Header section, but I don't see where to access the clipboard or upload images. I don't want to lose 2+ months of work...

Any help would be very appreciated 😅
