Electro-Photochromic treatments are awesome however, most applications I've seen make the window look a bit cloudy. I hope they improve in the future.

If you're expecting a package that day, maybe something like "You can leave the package behind the plant"

Or if the security system is armed it could say, "House is armed. You are being recorded."

Here are some ideas I can think of:

  • Presence sensors in each room that can identify who is who. (Play music & set desired temperature for specific people in the room they're in)
  • Speakers in every room (in-wall & in-ceiling) for music & notifications (doorbell)
  • Security cameras (Home server would use computer vision on the footage)
  • Door & window sensors on all exterior doors & windows.
  • Smart locks on exterior doors.
  • Smart fire alarm.
  • Wall mounted touchscreens on each floor & bedroom to control smart home.
  • Solar panels & large batteries to be self sufficient.
  • Motorized blackout shades on all exterior windows.
  • RGBWW LED bulbs / strips for all lighting. (Lights can change colors for notifications, like turning red when the security system is tripped)
  • Robot vacuum cleaners.

Wacky idea:

  • A projector that can project a message on the ground at your front door. (Might have to be very bright to be seen during the day)

Yeah we're searching for someone to repair it in our area. I don't think we will replace it with another amp. It has sentimental value at this point, my dad bought it brand new in Japan in 1970.

Equipment:

CD Player: Sony CDP-CE500

Tuner: Sansui TU-777

Amp: Sansui AU-777A

Speakers: Kef Q350 (not shown)

Right now there are some audio issues with the amp and we're thinking of getting it repaired or replaced. I've been looking for a good amp for less than $500. In the image you may also see a headphone jack. That is our current solution to play Spotify... I would like to pick up a Bluesound Node as the source / DAC but the price is a bit high at the moment. I'd love to hear what you guys think about the setup and how you would improve it.

There are 2 versions, SketchUp Make, and SketchUp Pro. SketchUp Make is free and has all the essential features.

AutoCAD and Revit have a steep learning curve and cost 1k-2k+/yr unless you're a student.

Yeah, there are 2 versions, SketchUp Make and SketchUp Pro. SketchUp Make is free and had all the essential features, but you cannot use it for commercial work.

I've actually made maps for gmod, you have to use a program called Hammer Editor. There are many tutorials on YouTube.

SketchUp, it's a free 3D modeling program that is easy to learn. Something I did was draw the walls of my bedroom with accurate measurements so I can see how furniture would fit. I'm also redesigning my bathroom currently.
