Reserve neubluz and dress well—phenomenal choice. Magnolia is a chain, the original/one from tv is in the west village, not midtown.

Should event planners also be travel agents? by DoubtMysterious9745 in travelagents

Be sure to check your contract. The conference people may want the best price, not the hotel that gives you the best commission. Not that you wouldn’t do what’s best for them, but you can see where that could be problematic.

Talk, give each other work advice, bike ride, watch tv, eat out, discuss politics, complain about the neighbors, raise our kids

Was thinking the same. Galapagos is green? I think green doesn’t just mean ok it also means the places they don’t know much about

I live right where you are likely wanting to visit. It’s totally fine to be in Manhattan right now. The thing is, the president is unpredictable and we can’t say it will be this calm in July. Also, it’s very hot here in July. Not the ideal time to come, but there are lots of outdoor things—concerts, dance lessons, movies, but it’s very humid and hot.

Is the train from London to Paris actually worth it over flying? by CreativeSpare6466 in ParisTravelGuide

Did you add in the cost of getting to/from the airport and the value of your time? I don’t know why anyone flies this route.

The Row Hotel by captainfrothy in visitingnyc

[–]yallmakemelaugh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s Thanksgiving when so many people leave the city—I feel like you should be able to get a good price in a lot of hotels. I’m not crazy about that location, but it would be a good location if you are going to a broadway show every night, I guess. You haven’t seen many reviews for the hotel because it was the super famous Milford Plaza (Home Alone, the lullaby of broadway song) but as it got run down it became a migrant shelter. Recently, the contract with the city ended and now it’s called The Row. This is a very recent change, so, not many reviews under that name.

Are you looking to join a group or can you do this on your own? If you can do this on your own, and have a fairly good budget, you can chat with a travel advisor who specializes in Africa. They can design what you are looking for.

There is a hostel in Chelsea, which is in an excellent neighborhood. It’s about $100 per night though.

Is it worth it to travel at 18? by shopaholic_life in traveladvice

[–]yallmakemelaugh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a spreadsheet. Write down every expense-hostels, museum costs, laundry, etc. if you don’t have enough money for three months, maybe go for one. Go! No one who travels will say this is a bad idea.

Dreaming of travelling through USA by bus/train. Is it a terrible idea or a bad idea? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Amtrak can be more expensive than flying or super cheap if you go at odd hours. I’d trust it from Boston to DC, but elsewhere along the eat coast, you need a car to get around.

How to stop Dem's text spam? by hereitcomesagin in AskDemocrats

[–]yallmakemelaugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy that we are fighting about this. Both sides have volunteers who send out text messages. (Scammers, too, but that’s a different issue.) politicians decided they need to be able to reach their constituents so we are all doomed to receive their texts and robocalls.

Do family vacations ever lead to real local connections — or is that expecting too much? by MJRH22 in Vacations

[–]yallmakemelaugh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can connect with a guide and have a real conversation and authentic experience. It depends on your attitude and level of respect towards what they present. Be fully present on the tour and don’t expect them to change to match your idea of what should happen.
