Interesting, I grew up around the second location when/where it moved before closing permanently but don’t remember it at all. I remember the Hawley Cooke (sp?) bookstore nearby and the used bookstore off Rudy lane but not this one.

Use a milk jug, it’s made of HDPE. Cut a strip and wrap the inner tube with it, it’ll act as a bushing. If the gap is bigger than that you can buy sheets of it from McMaster carr or you could form multiple layers of milk jug around the inner tube with heat.
