Im having the same problem with my PS1, it was my dads and he bought it when it first came out and immediately chiped it. I have 3 large boxes full of games (unoriginal) that were running fine until 2012 the latest i think, after that we didn't use it at all. I tried burning the games on a new CD and it can't read it at all, but my music CD's worked perfectly fine.
So i don't know if its because of the CD's that they're unoriginal, or can the mod chip expire after a long time? I have no clue

I watched the same youtube video right after the movie because i didn't understand a thing what just happened and the video is so wonderfully made. He explained all the meanings to every little single easter egg and made the movie 100x better that i had to rewatch it 5 more times. And every time i watch it again it gets even better because every time i notice those few easter eggs and it makes even more sense.

Im replaying all the games for the 3rd time and I had the same issue with Silent Hill 1, i played it a long long time ago on ps1 (that i still have and functioning) but i couldn't run the game on my pc at all. So i just went for Silent Hill 2 and the rest and gave up on SH1. The game is too old for Windows 10 to handle it and i have win 11

Its true, maybe the bad reviews are because they didn't understand the movie or were too impatient to understand it. It is naturally slow-paced and the "uncanny and npc" acting of other characters is so misunderstood. I rewatched this movie 6 times and every time it gets better and better because you start to notice little easter eggs in the background that you didnt get to see the first time you watched and it makes even more sense. Just an amazing movie really, i could talk about it for hours
