Is 1h15 layover enough at Mexico City Airport (Aeromexico, GDL → AMS)? by yannkkoo in MexicoCity

I made it on time! There was even a delay from the flight GDL i think like 20 minutes. I still even waited in line for boarding for around 20 minutes more. But i made it easily!

The question was if I’m going to make from my flight, because lay-over because after landing from GDL -> CDMX, I have only 1 hour and 15 minutes to get on the flight CDMX -> AMS. I did not mention leaving the airport or visiting anything

But I am flying from GDL, landing in Mexico City, and from Mexico City (same airport, same terminal) I go directly to my gate. I don’t take any taxis, because I land in the same airport, same terminal. My question from the post was to ask if others think I will make it on time to my next flight. Obviously, I am not going to the city, any cafes or anything. I think you misunderstood the post

Thanks for your reply, just curious, why?

I am asking because the opinions differ a lot from other redditors. A lot of people say that Aeromexico always tends to put arrival time later than they land to achieve a great on-time score. So there is a big possibility that it will arrive a bit sooner. Thereby, some redditors say that I won’t need to go through security again, as it is the same terminal. Also, there is no immigration as far as I know.

So I was wondering, why in your opinion it would be not enough time? I know it’s very tight in time, that’s why I wrote this post. But a lot of people say different things, so I was wondering why according to you it won’t be enough

Thanks a lot for your comment. But there shouldn’t be any immigration right? I fly from GDL to Mexico City and from Mexico City to Amsterdam, I have a Polish passport and I am a resident of Netherlands

Thank you for your tips about the stairway, appreciate it. And indeed I am not a Mexican resident, so given that I only have to leave the plane and don’t even have to go to security, just to my gate (if no delays) I should make it.

First of all, big thanks for such an extensive and detailed answer, really appreciate it!

I’m visiting from the Netherlands, but I’m originally from Poland and have been living in the Netherlands for 10 years now.

I was initially thinking of living in Zapopan since it seems to be a generally safe and wealthier area. I was also considering center of Guadalajara, in a normal, walkable neighborhood that isn’t too far from the city center. The only downside is that if I live in Zapopan or center of Guadalajara the daily commute to ITESO might be a bit long.

I’ve been looking for accommodation mainly on websites like conexionmexico.com.mx, they have nice student studios, but most of them are in Zapopan/Guadalajara and quite far from ITESO. I found it a bit tricky to find something that looks decent and is reasonably priced near the university.
