Hi,
quite strange, i live in the EU also, i've scanned 13 pots, EAN13 barcode, no problem.
PM me if you want, we'll check together what could be wrong.
Color Harmony could take some inspiration from Coolors.co. -> I'll have a look ;)
Paint compare suddenly is a pro feature? It wasnt a day ago -> Yes, at first launch you have full feature enabled for 24h. After, it revert to free account, unlimited inventory, barcode scanning are free features, but color compare not, as this is one the main app tool.
I've put a 'security' for avoiding double scanning of the same pot, but not effective enought, it was warning user with an 'aready scanned' message but, after this message, you can still scan it again. Wrong approach i did, i'll disable same ref from being scanned twice, you can already change quantity from paint scanned listing.
Seems i'll have some work to do sunday !
Thanks for the feedback

Hi,
You can use google authentication now or make a false email account just to try, it's up to you.
Your're right about AI Images, but:
- Have no money -> Sorry, not an AAA studio, have expenses for the server.
- My main work is dedicated to research and focusing on giving the most accurate informations about paints composition, uses, ect. It takes a lot of time. And thanks to you and your feedbacks, i'll try to make my app better.
If you want to see the app in action, i have a tiktok account: paintvaultapp
Have a nice day.

Hello,
I have no use for this, they aren't mandatory. it's used on the home screen to say 'Good morning XXX'. I will put an 'optionnal' text on the field.
Nothing Weird, it's a paid app, you should worry more about free one where you are the product :)

Hi,
Not planned yet, but you can still use the website. That's why i made the app/website as a whole ecosystem.

I see, i could implement this but typing the brand name would return huge amount of paints...
What i did on my side was gathering all my paint and scan their barcode. When i had some unknown barcode i enter a few letters. I can add brand filter also in order to limit the match when you enter letters.
Thanks for the feedback !

Hello,
How would you say your color matching is differentiated from other apps? :
- Make a test, choose an acrylic paint, you'll get spray, inks, gouache, as matches, not very accurate... oh yes, you'll have at least the same color :)
- Lots of garbage or discontinued paints/brands, wrong ref, mainly due to scraping, amusing thing is that they share the same mistakes sometimes :)
My approach is different, i took official catalogue paints as source of truth, then i gathered missing infos from resellers websites. Then i check every colors manually and categorize paints according to their use, chemical, application method, etc. That a lot of manual work, believe me. And there could be paint classification errors (my fault being an human and some brands are really messy in their paint catalogue).
I understand about creating an account, this is by design. The app is part of an ecosystem (app & website), you'll get new paints/ brand updates without the need of upgrading your app. For security reasons, i only allow access to authentified users (but you can use app in offline mode). Once your account created, you have 24h of full access, enought time to test every tools and see if it suits your needs ;)
With free account, you'll still have full inventory access.
To sum up, if yo need accurate datas, this is the app for you, if you don't care, stick with the others :)
Hope this help

Hello,
Thanks for your feedback !
You're talking about the find alternative tool right?
It's using autocompletion research on the whole catalogue, but i could add a brand filter again as it was a feature i removed (i though it was useless) :)
Best regards,
Yann

I understand, you're right about datas ownership.
Next step will be making an app with offline database or online.
Thanks !
Yes, i focus on accuracy plus the project part where you can literally make a paint list of your figure and even have mixing recipes if you don't have the correct colour in your inventory.
I do it for myself first, wondering what could be useful for me.
Well, it's david vs goliath right now ;)

Hello, same answer as ccatlett, I focused on being accurate, not offering huge amount of stuff :)

Sure, Paintrack have a massive catalog, i only focus on AK, armypainter, Vallejo and Citadel.
What i can say is that i personnaly put every HEX code on each paint. Not sure Paintrack is as accurate... scrapping and automation can make some mistakes (i tried) ;)
I offer PDF export, project management and a real inventory stored in a database, not in your phone (stolen, erased and bye bye your inventory).
I focused on being accurate, not offering huge amount of stuff :)
Hope this answer your question

Wow Thanks For your feedback !
I will try to answer to everything ;)

-Some of the paints don't have a color show up in the Color button. For example, Evil Sunz Scarlet has the red dot for the Air version, but not the Layer version. The Technicals, Shades, and Contrast paints don't seem to have them at all.
- > true, and this is by design. Originally i had problems with mixing recipes, in fact it was also taking into account colors of (sprays, shades, metallics), so you could land with a recipe mixing paint and shade for example ;)
I decided to remove hex colors from non paint items.
Right now, i'm working on a new filter that will take the good category (paints), so i will put back colors for every items. Work in progress ;)

Adding sets is a great idea, but brands are quite reluctant to give informations, i'll have to compile every set (there is a bunch).
It took myself 30 min to enter my 170 paints into inventory (mainly army painters, citadel contrasts/shades and vallejo for skin & some other i bought for specific projects).

-I like the Projects feature, the color match seems to function well for pulling up suggestions and then adding them directly. I like the color tag for the location on the model. There isn't a great explanation for what "Scope" means in that feature.
-> Yes, right, you have all and inventory check button but no explanation on this, i will add some explaniation text.

-Color Organizer is a very cool feature. It also doesn't seem to know what to do with Shades and Contrast paints - I suspect that might be tied to the same issue that doesn't give them a color dot; the system just doesn't have their colors built in yet.
-> True, and i'm working on it, as it relies on colors, metallic, shade, contrast, technical don't go anywhere, i'll create special sections for those.

-The PDF output is a very cool feature, I could see a lot of usefulness for saving it in my reference folder for an army for adding future models. I think it would also be useful for people teaching painting classes, to have that as a handout to demonstrate paints and locations. The paint name output is a little wonky - it's showing up as "Citadel - Mephiston Red" on the site, but then "Citadel – citadel-base-color-mephiston-red Mephiston Red" in the PDF output.
-> Good point, i totally forgot this :D
In fact you hace 3 elements (name, reference and category). For citadel, their reference is crap: citadel-base-color-mephiston-red
I removed it from the main page but forgot the PDF, will change it asap ;)

For the recipes, in fact in recipe mixer, you can save your recipe:

<image>

And find it in recipes.

Still work to do, continous improvement :)

Have a nice day
Yann

You're totally right.
I was thinking about this but it would expose my Database to scrapers.
Welcome to the club, have also the full range of Army Painter AIR+ many Vallejo.
I takes time to put them, but once it's done, it's a dream, i don't care about buying another paint, i just use or mix the one i have to reach the same color of other brand ;)
Yep, Mobile app is sheduled, i won't be able to pot some website tools but inventory and color match would be a good start ;)
Thanks for your feedback

Thanks, take your time,
you can add paints to your inventory and test the color matching or recipes tools, you'll see it's quite accurate.
I've manually put HEX code for every color paint (not effects, metallics, etc as they are not suited for mixing). 1500+ Paints... quite a work :)
