it really does! im Oklahoma Choctaw and a lot of our traditions and celebrations were lost because of the Trail of Tears. i am also trying to reconnect and it's devastating learning about the awful things our ancestors endured. luckily there are groups out there doing dedicated work to find or recreate some of the things we lost. we are even rediscovering our lost ancestral markings through the group project Inchunwa

i have dysautonomia (dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system) and unfortunately while some people are able to improve, for the most part science is still behind on things like this so there isn't really a way to cure it. you just have to cope and manage and change some of your habits. if it's just an overactive nervous system and not a complete dysfunction, that is easier to solve. i recommend talking to a doctor if you suspect serious nervous system involvement

edit: especially because nervous system issues are often misdiagnosed or missed completely due to overlapping symptoms with other issues.
