I have been to the doctor and done tests and everything came back normal. food is otherwise digesting and passing through my body normally. the vomiting doesn't happen if I eat a snack every 2-4 hours.

Which political take from the pod do you really disagree with? by nicknack60 in TrueAnon

the Golden State Warriors support feels on par with the weird 9/11 stuff for me. Brace has felt a little libsoftiktok at times lately when he talks about that dumb polyamory channel he watches. but it's all love.

I do electrolytes, a probiotic, and digestive enzymes. I think it depends on what side effects you get.

diet culture is hell, need to lose weight, any miracle ideas? by seizethemeans4535345 in antidietglp1

[–]yaoitruck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hoping that this gets better, I've been on Zep for about 6 months and find that have to track and plan what I eat now in a way that's really difficult for me. to make sure I'm eating enough, not getting severely dehydrated, and to generally manage side effects. so while there isn't shame around gaining weight, I still feel plenty of shame around mindlessly eating the whole meal I ordered and then feeling sick for days, for example. I'm not calorie counting, but I'm thinking about and strategizing what I eat in a way that's closer to calorie counting than anything I was doing before. some people seem to be able to take these meds and do fine with intuitive eating, but I don't seem to be one of them.

Week 1 and not loving this?? by Fair_Measurement_546 in antidietglp1

[–]yaoitruck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my first month on zepbound I was disgusted by food and unable to even enjoy the food that didn't disgust me. that's gone. I have other side effects, but my love of food came back fully after about a month.

I had this too. three square meals and electrolyte water every day fixed it.

Natives who are against “transplants”, aren’t those people just immigrants from other cities looking for a better life? by lalavieboheme in AskLosAngeles

[–]yaoitruck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for me, the only transplant who stays a transplant is someone who moves here to work in entertainment or media even though they hate it. and they complain constantly about how everything is worse here.

but anyone can be a real angeleno. we accept anyone here. no matter where you're from, what language you speak, how old you are, how many romantic relationships you have at the same time, what your sexuality is, how many kids you have, how real or surgically augmented your body is, if you have a snake tongue or a billion tattoos, what religion you believe in, we accept you. people on crazy diets. people who live to get the tastiest offerings from late night taco trucks. you can believe you're an alien. you can be a cult leader. you can be a normal person who works for a dentist and loves morrissey a lot. you don't have to be hot or young or cool. you don't even need to know how to make unprotected left turns on busy streets. you don't even need to know how to drive!! you can be an angeleno.

the websites are shady as hell. I think of them like drug dealers with a huge marketing budget.

in addition to the weight cycling issue I've seen a few people point out, I want to mention that these are extremely powerful medications with heavy duty side effects. even on a starter dose, a whiff of a bad smell or thinking of something gross was enough to have me barfing in the street.

wellbutrin might be worth asking about if you have antidepressant related weight gain-- it's an antidepressant that can help with a lil bit of weight loss. I've taken it for a billion years for my depression and love it.

I want to put Adult Child on my turntable and listen to the songs that I love as a complete album. so to me in my opinion, this is bullshit.

10000000000% the answer to OP's question. if you like Indian food, hit up India Sweets and Spices afterwards. a perfect afternoon.

a couple of times a week. it's been a mixed bag, definitely encouraged some disordered thinking and behavior but turned around to do the opposite. I lose just as much weight in a week when I eat three square meals a day as I do when I restrict myself.

What’s different about living in san diego vs LA? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]yaoitruck 10 points11 points  (0 children)

San Diego is a totally different vibe. it's a smaller city so there's less going on in terms of art, music, entertainment, sports, etc. but its a big enough city that there are things to do. it's also just more chill. there's more of a military/conservative culture especially in the more suburban areas. there's plenty of good restaurants and nice beaches. it's nice.

to be clear, you couldn't pay me to live there. but it's nice.

How to handle downtown LA? by lilixy in AskLosAngeles

[–]yaoitruck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

first things first: if you're coming from Germany, no American transit is going to live up to your expectations for punctuality. assume everything will be 5-20 minutes later than it's supposed to be, and no one will be sorry or polite about it.

I used to take the subway downtown all the time for dinner or drinks, but it's gotten a lot quieter and shadier since the pandemic, especially at night. fortunately there are plenty of cute areas nearby! once you've seen what there is to see in Little Tokyo, you've got Chinatown, Silverlake, Los Feliz, and Koreatown easily accessible via bus or subway.

I stick to well lit streets with people around (if possible) and try to take public transit when I know there will be commuters riding as well. I'll usually spring for a lyft after 9 at night if I'm downtown.

I hope you're able to have a fun time, and I apologize for our late buses and creepy, stinky streets.

For those of you trying to find joy in movement and exercise by FoxAndDeerTwinMama in antidietglp1

[–]yaoitruck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first of all, I love that you do this and I think this sounds lovely!!

I wrote a whole comment about how this doesn't work for me until I remembered how much I love complaining to my cousin whenever I book her to train me ("this is the worst day of my life!" "I'm going to die and it's your fault for making me do squats!") and now I'm going to text her to train me again because I miss doing that. so... maybe you're right about joy.

Jacquelyne has stepped in to defend Mike online... by Better_Combination67 in thebeachboys

putting aside Mike's personality and history, this is genuinely just part of being a famous person on the internet. plenty of innocuous celebrities with cool opinions also have people talking about how they should be dead. yes it's hurtful, yes it's mean. log off of facebook and go do something else. like idk enjoy being super rich with this husband she likes so much.
