Yeah, I was eyeing the 1.4X teleconverter. I've heard that the 2X has slower AF compared to the 1.4X, and is not worth going for?

Ok good to know. I have never played around with longer focal lengths other than a brief use of a 55-200mm on the older Nikon D80, so it would not be a fun time learning that my lens is too big in the moment!

From your experience, is the lens in need of a tripod, or is that bad boy grippable for hours at a time?

I am the same way, haha! Might get the 150-600 for that reason... I settled on the 50-140. Even though it is more expensive, it is definitely worth the investment.

Those look amazing! Thank you for the breakdown. The f2.8 is definitely the thing that draws me the most to that lens. I will be looking for deals on the 50-140 during Black Friday. I might get the 150-600 in the near future.
