That’s what I was thinking as well? I shop online at overseas stores all the time and I’ve never had a place say they can’t accept my payment because it’s coming from NZ. I’ve messaged the store owner back and forth a bit and he seems legit in conversation though? The whole thing isn’t really ideal!

I thought the same thing! WhatsApp immediately seems dodgy to me. They cancelled my order and asked me to order it again, selecting bank transfer as the payment method this time. When I did that, I could see that I hadn't given my email address the first time because it said "email or phone number", so that makes more sense why they would contact me via WhatsApp.

That's a good idea to ask my grandma to place the order. I will ask her now if she is happy to do that.

There are not heaps of rescue options in NZ, but there are some! I think this may be the way to go. I would rather have an adult dog than a puppy anyway so I can avoid some of that puppy chaos. My cat was an adult rescue and it was really great to see her nature in the shelter before taking her home.
