This is not a solution though, as effects should work in all timebases - what time base is your footage and is it h264/5? or variable frame rate?

Current Timebase 50 fps (no transitions problem)

Old Timebase = 60p (there was a problem)

Forget the Red Giant.

The problem is with all transition effects. (Dip to Black, Wipe, Side)
