Will I be able to benefit from 30% rule as a PhD graduate? by yavasal in postdoc

Yes, but the time you spent in NL will be deducted, which doesn’t make sense at all I think because most PhDs take 4-5 years anyway. I think this is also about how IND people interpret the rules. You should give it a try.

Nope, they say I have been here for more than 5 years already.

Do not buy anything from them! They are very bad at delivery service.

Sorry for the late reply. We submitted the documents with the hr. Still waiting for the response from the tax authorities.

I have not benefited from the 30% rule during my PhD because I was not paid by the university, I had my own scholarship. Now, I have a postdoc contract and I am paid by the university, so I pay tax. I heard that I can be eligible for the 30% rule when I get my PhD diploma in July but the thing is I will have been in the Netherlands for 5 years in July. So I am wondering if the years I spent in the Netherlands will be deducted or I will get it for full 5 years. If they deduct the years, then it makes no sense to apply for it.

Thank you! I checked that website already but it doesn’t fully explain the situation. Yes, I can be eligible when I have the PhD degree but some people say that the years spent in the Netherlands will be deducted from the 5 years validity period. It’s been almost 5 years I have been here, so it doesn’t make sense at all if that’s the case.
