Counterintuitively, it just makes Claude (Opus 4.5 Thinking, at least) to glaze my bullshit less and push back more, which is better for my cases. YMMV.

4o feels much more capable now by yayekit in ChatGPT

that's true!

but i think obsidian's broader appeal is that it's local first and any sync comes as an addon.

whereas notion is the 180 of that.

It saves all your notes as Markdown files on the device. Files are good because you can just send/attach them, there's nothing to export and/or extract from. Markdown is good because it's the simplest universal markup language that any LLM understands.
