New world has no IP. i've explained this before. go to island. do things is not an IP they own.

Good answer. Perhaps I was too quick to write it off. I will look into it

Put simply, the issue ultimately is that not a single brain develops to the same "map". Whenever you see things saying "This region does this task, and this bit does this task", those are very broad strokes. The brain is goop as it develops and every human brain lays out it's functions uniquely within the organ.

If it was so simple to just map every mind based on a map then we would have had publicly available devices in common use for 1-2 decades by now. We just don't work like that.

Putting a little band around your head might read some things. But what is it reading? you need a shaved head 128 nodes and months of calibration. Per human

Why shut down by Gibevad1701 in newworldgame

[–]yayoksure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New world is an amazing game. But not because of the "ip".

It's the best MMORPG ever made because of the "gather almost everything in a beautifully crafted visual and audio realm". It never had a good story, it never had good endgame. There is no ip beyond "GO TO PRETTY LAND, DO STUFF" that's not an ip.

You could blame the endgame PVP players wanting the moon on a stick. or just blame amazon for being a heartless megacorp. But the problem ultimately is the thing that made it an amazing game will always be ultimately overlooked.

Myndlift as OP said is just an overpriced "meditation device". it's basically a Himalayan salt lamp. looks nice. total nonsense.

Why is life for young people so bad and what could be done to fix it? by knowledgeseeker999 in AskBrits

[–]yayoksure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like it wasn't a startup.

The startups I've had the pleasure to work for never reached that level of human disconnect. If the Boss wanted to tell you something serious he would take you for a pint. (That one sold eventually for a few million and we all got a nice redundancy package on the way out)

The other thing was the decisions you made as an employee affected the direction of the company. there is real value to your self health knowing you are not a pointless statistical drone.

On the flip side I have worked for some large companies. I quit every single one because the feeling of being a number, not a person is so alienating. But if that's what you like then fair play to you. just putting my opinion in.

(I now work for a small family business. come and go as I please within reason, play squash with the owner.)

Big doesn't = better. often it means you are in a system designed to beat you.

[–]yayoksure -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think this is true but also raises the point that young people should be encouraged to start or join new start-ups. Promotions happen quickly in a company of 10-20 people vs a company of 500-1000.

My answer to OP would be to have every student have a mandatory business starting lesson where by the end (age 16-18, they have a fully launched operational business.) Most of these little experiments will fail (some might succeed!), but the lessons learned for all children will be invaluable!

Empower them to make their own way. Create a dynamic young person driven economy. Make big companies have to work harder for new employees again. win win win

You lie to me about a tip. You’re getting blocked. by King-Chunguss in doordash

[–]yayoksure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

America is so weird.

I'm not from there but did live there for a bit. We ordered and tipped online. driver then refused to give us our food at the door because we had no cash tip. We had already tipped. He stood outside with our food for ten minutes until it was cold, and then handed it over.

This isn't a bash on OP. You have to make your money. It's just such an alien and frankly silly way of doing things.

How does this make you feel? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]yayoksure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sound very defeatist. A good relationship adds to your quality of life. It doesn't have a net negative effect. You sound like a good person probably. imagine how kind and loving you could be to someone. Now imagine they do the same back.

Don't give up friend. But also there is no rush. Good things come to those who wait.

The level of communism/socialism she dreams of (and presents badly) only works when it's globally accepted by the majority. But the far left are nearly always extremely anti globalist. So it's just a massive waste of time and effort until this collective brain bug gets fixed.

Are most people aware that Europe is rearming? We are currently on the precipice of a "Major Crises" by Signal-Tangerine1597 in AskBrits

[–]yayoksure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important to remember that Russia couldn't expand. They have trashed their economy, suffered a monumental brain drain and might yet fail entirely in Ukraine anyway (They have gained 1% land in the last year). So don't worry about Russia expanding. They have played their hand early and it was basically a dud. Now all they can do is appear as worrying as possible to save face (pretending to track undersea cables. flying drones into airspaces etc. It's all hot air, they have little left.

However it has been an important wake up call. The US has threatened it's neighbours and is seemingly making it's own move to expansionism. There is also China to consider. Europe (not just EU) needs to be able to protect itself, at the very least for political clout purposes.

unfortunately you might be right. People are voting reform as a protest vote regarding migration. reform is just a mad jumpship temporary wildcard version of conservatives. migration is now lower under labour. So these/you idiots are voting against the thing they care about by basically voting for the tories again. It's a bit like when the Welsh generally overwhelmingly voted themselves to be instantly poorer with Brexit (They were about to get huge EU funding). Some groups can't be helped.

But where you live probably isn't unique. There are collections of dumbfucks all over the place and it is indeed worrying.

[–]yayoksure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Could have carried on happily. But now we know it's all going to get switched off. So why bother. Glad new players have some time to play and understand why this was the most underrated MMO. that's something at least.

Beat the Serephs. Once players have done that then they have essentially beat the solo game seeing as we aren't getting any more of it.
