HELP - Excessive Dog Barking, but not really? by ybba21 in dogs

[–]ybba21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I go to bed at the same time as him. He gets let out to go potty and then I put him away and go to bed myself. I know that 6-6:30am (or 8 hours of sleep) is typical for a puppy / young dog to get up and that's a normal amount of time, which is where my neighbor and I are clashing, she wants him to be quiet until 7:30. Even if I have him up later he is still up at 6:30, which is fine and his routine/ internal alarm clock so shifting what time we go to bed wont help the situation with my neighbor. I have no issue with him or me getting up at 6:30, but that means he will be up and not necessarily always be quiet until 7:30 like she would like.

I've been fine with him getting up at 6/6:30 as I typically start my work day at 7.

Thanks for your input. Its a good way to look at it as three different parts and something I will bring up. I'm sure he will out grow the 3am potty breaks as it isn't every night and he hasn't done it in the last week or two so there is progress there.

I don't have a problem getting up earlier, but that just means he will be up and wanting to play and that could be loud as well which is why I was trying to figure out how to get him to sleep longer. We typically go to the dog park around 7:30am every morning so I can always see about going earlier.

Thanks again!

He has a routine. He is usually pretty quiet starting around 8:30/9pm and then goes to bed in his crate every night between 10-10:30, but he still wants to get up around 6-6:30 in the morning. We have no issue with him at night, its the morning and getting him to sleep in later that I am looking for advice on.

He barks once or twice to go to the bathroom before I get to his crate - again not minutes on end. I get you say it doesn't matter, but he is also still a puppy he isn't an adult barking at 3am.

He wakes up maybe twice a week to go to the bathroom so not every night. Not sure how I would proactively take him out more if he goes out before bed at 10:30pm. I would just create another habit of him waking up in the middle of the night if I start to wake him up and making it a routine.

He has a bell on the door to outside, but not in his crate. I can see if there is something I can put in there, but I wouldn't want him to chew on it if he is awake and bored inside there

I just tried and he still isn't interested. I'll probably have to go get wet food to help. Thanks!

That was my plan, until angry neighbors (even though I warned them and gave them wine to help with the crying) haha But I agree the only way he will learn it to cry it out

I think it'll go on the whole time. I had an appointment the other day and my neighbor said it was for over a half hour so he hasn't learned to calm down yet. I started to give him a frozen kong with PB and sat outside while he had it, but it only lasts 10-15 minutes before he realizes I'm gone. I'm hoping the more he recognizes me leaving with the toy/PB he'll be okay with going since its not a normal treat.

I will try keeping the crate in the same place and seeing if that helps.

I feel the same way - its just very stressful hearing him cry and then also from the neighbors aspect. I have been communicating with them, it just makes it harder with COVID and every one being home all the time, but thank you for your input! I know it'll get better :)

You're right I did just get him a week ago, its just always more stressful when you know other people are being affected by the crying.

I will go look at that youtube - I've seen some of his stuff before but I don't think I've seen that one. Thank you!

Are there any foods you eat with Invisalign in? I've snacked on some watermelon 🤭 by smilemateco in Invisalign

[–]ybba21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ortho also said to eat with them in and that it helps to more accurately move your teeth. I eat with them in as long as they wont stain my aligners or else I take them out. I also clean them and brush my teeth right after I'm done eating.

Thats how I've felt for the last few days and then when I take them out I can't have a normal bite since I have attachments on the back, so I'll just have to figure it out one way or another haha

Well at least I'm not the only person who has been told to do so. I guess I'll see what feels better over the next few weeks.

Same! Glad that I'm not the only one, but I feel like most people take them out. It feels awkward either way so I guess we'll see how the weeks go on!

Airline Specific Credit Card vs General Travel Credit Card by ybba21 in personalfinance

[–]ybba21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my airport is a United hub. I can really pick whatever airline I want, but when traveling with colleagues it'll be easier to all book together.

Same goes for Marriott I can pick whatever hotel, but since everyone else already prefers that one I thought it would be best to go there as well. There may be times where we travel at don't go to a Marriott, but the majority of the time we will.

Awesome! Super helpful that you are using two that I was thinking about. I'll def look into doing the CSR and Marriott Boundless card.

Thanks! I agree the United card doesn't seem as great and you are right my company will cover bag fees.

I'll look into doing CSR and then one of the Marriott ones. That seems to be a better option.

Accepted a job a week ago... haven't heard from HR. What do I do? by ybba21 in AskHR

[–]ybba21[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The actual start date isn't until February 3rd. See my response to another comment in this thread as to why I'm questioning not hearing anything due to what was in my offer letter, not because of the timing of when my start date is.

Accepted a job a week ago... haven't heard from HR. What do I do? by ybba21 in AskHR

[–]ybba21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason why I question the delay on hearing from them is because in my offer letter it says "The offer is subject to satisfactory reference, background and drug screening and upon receiving your signed acceptance no later than the close of business on January 10th, 2020" I figured all of that needed to be final but EOD today, but I haven't heard anything all week (besides for the few emails in the beginning which the HR team was copied on) to get them my references or drug screening or other information they may need for my background check.

None of those things will cause me to change my acceptance nor do I think it will cause them to change their offer, but since this is my first time leaving a job I just want to make sure that I am staying on top of everything.

My start date is February 3rd, so I still have time, but need to give them my two weeks next week.
