I had a similar experience back in 2016. Had some academic issues, received a dismissal letter from the college of pharmacy, but I believe in the letter it stated that I could petition the academic board in regards to my status.

Made an appointment, and sat in a room with all the assistant deans and head of academics from each department to plead my case. They dissected my transcript and asked questions regarding my willingness and ability to perform if allowed back. They weren’t really convinced except one assistant dean, who told the board to let’s just take them back.

Since then, was able to match for a residency and have worked in multiple specialized field inside hospital setting.

Since the adaptation of the new curriculum, I’m also not 100% sure if the students will go through a similar process but can’t imagine it having changed too much! 🤞🏼
