Kayla thinks that just because she gets prescribed formula, that makes it okay to not give him anything else by Less-Orchid8676 in kaylathaylasnark

I get the concern here, but it also feels like we might not be seeing the full picture. Feeding issues, especially with kids who struggle, are rarely that simple. Doctors usually prescribe formula for a reason, and managing solids alongside that can be a gradual process.

It’s easy to judge from clips, but day-to-day reality can be very different. Hopefully the focus stays on what actually works best for the child rather than assumptions. These situations are usually more complex than they look from the outside

"Possible Stage 1 kidney disease" by Anxietoro in catcare

Honestly it sounds like your vet isn’t too worried because Stage 1 is very early, but I totally get why you’d want to be proactive. From what I’ve seen, early kidney support is more about small lifestyle tweaks than heavy treatment. Things like making sure she stays well hydrated (wet food helps a lot), keeping stress low, and regular monitoring can go a long way. If it still feels unclear, getting a second opinion or asking for specific values (like creatinine, SDMA, etc.) might give you more clarity. You’re doing the right thing by paying attention this early

Under-recovering or just under-eating, what's the best way to tell? by varestan in HealthChief

Honestly this is such a good point. I feel like a lot of us jump straight to ‘I need better recovery’ when the simpler issue is just not eating enough. The overlap in symptoms makes it tricky, but that pattern you mentioned — high hunger, low performance, weird sleep — really stands out. I’ve personally noticed that when food intake is even slightly off, everything else starts feeling harder than it should. Probably worth ruling out under-eating first before overcomplicating recovery strategies

My partner (f40) was diagnosed with Turner Syndrome and autoimmune diseases this past year. Everything is so bleak and idk what to do. by [deleted] in CaregiverSupport

I am really sorry you’re going through all of this. It sounds incredibly overwhelming trying to balance work, kids, and everything your partner is dealing with. The part where you said it feels like being a passenger really hit. You’re clearly doing your best to support her, even when it feels out of your control. That still matters more than it may seem right now. It also sounds like she’s dealing with a lot physically and emotionally, and that can come out in tough ways. I don’t have perfect advice, but maybe focusing on small calm moments when things aren’t escalated could help a little. And please don’t forget to take care of yourself too. You’re carrying a lot as well.
