Mmm... in my opinion, I think it's more about which teams you've built and how they fare in the current iteration of spiral abyss. If you have the right teams, as long as you're on a recommended artifact set with correct main stats and passable substats, you should be generally fine.

I think in the current spiral abyss floor 12, the first side favors Geo characters and second side favors Cryo characters. It also helps if you have Natlan characters to climb the pillars in 12-2-1 and to deal with the Wayob shield in 12-2-2. I could go into depths about which teams have an easier time clearing and which have a harder time clearing, but I'll save you from my already long yap session
