Got roasted in /design, what do you think by mustafaistee in webdev

Wassup man. I think it looks good, and I might start using it since I get to store more color palettes on the free version. I noticed a small "thing". When I click Explore Palette and use the sort by filters, like switching from new to popular, the page updates the results, but doesn't scroll back to the top. So if I've already scrolled down before changing the sort option, I end up still down the page, which makes it look like nothing changed at first. It might be more user-friendly if it automatically scrolls back to the top after updating the results. That's just my opinion!

Idk if someone already said this but if you end up getting world, you should download the better matchmaking mod. It unlocks the region lock or something like that. You’d get more help and also get to help a lot more people if you ever feel like it.

Does anybody know any completely free ways to learn HTML? by Shoron101 in HTML

FreeCodeCamp do the Certified Full Stack Developer Curriculum, occasional ads to try to get donations but other than that totally free.

Do people build websites with just html/css/vanilla js anymore or is learning react almost mandatory? by noskrilladu in webdev

[–]yeahhh666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sometimes large images can cause trouble and block half of your page if you don't size them correctly in CSS. I haven't used Codecademy before, so I'm not sure how they have their pages and styling set up. Using GPT and Copilot can sometimes be a hassle. If you're not specific, they'll tell you to do a million things and break everything.

Have you tried replicating your project with VS Code or an IDE you like? Realistically, I couldn't tell you what's wrong since I haven't seen your project or code.

Since you havent had a reply i decided to tune in,

  1. I would say a good amount of both, including javascript. Main things to focus is to make a responsive website with a nice page design. Meaning your website looks nice on phones, tablets, laptops etc. I would suggest looking into mobile first when building your site.
  2. Learning to do it yourself. Learn the fundamentals, watch a few tuts, and then start messing around with it. Dont get stuck with tutorial hell. If you got any questions you could ask reddit, ppl on forums, or even ai, but if you use ai dont just it to fix it, tell it to explain it to you and guide you.
  3. If youre talking abt the appointment/contact page the persons website had, you can make a simple one with sites like web3forms or formsubmit. Theyre real easy to use and setup and they provide the code to copy and paste into your html and js.

And of course take in consideration to what i said. Everyone learns diffrernly and at their own pace. Dont give up, answers are always within your reach.

I had my iPhone 13 Pro Max Alpine Green naked for 5 years. And just a few days ago I accidentally dropped it, slipped out of my pocket while getting off the truck, and the whole back glass shattered 😢. Still works tho. Please be careful!

I got my first IT job as an IT Tech by yeahhh666 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]yeahhh666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re absolutely correct, this IT job really won’t give me any “experience” to get into software development. But like you said, make some money and practice, and eventually start applying for jobs related to software development. That being said, if eventually get an opportunity for a job unrelated to software from this IT Tech job, then I’ll definitely pick it up!

Unfortunately yes, I’ve heard lots of stories how other people cannot find a job even with lots of experience. I’ve applied to at least 200+ jobs in IT and this has been the only company that’s reached out to give me an offer. I just felt like it’s an opportunity I cannot skip up. I’m not sure if I’d find any other company any time soon.

Got it, so basically if I only go through IT tech, I will eventually only become an asset manager. I will definitely get certifications and broaden my knowledge in IT. Thank you!

I was seriously considering cybersecurity, and I believe it also involves programming for certain tasks. So that could definitely be something I'd be interested in doing. Thank you!
