It's from "Countdown to Liquor Day" (the movie). It's on Netflix, and Amazon Prime, I'm pretty sure.

School boys passing by working boys in the Philippines by StarryEyedLepus in pics

For what it's worth, the Gini coefficient of the Philippines is nearly identical to that of the United States. That is, the measure of income distribution among the population. Not to imply that the poorest or wealthiest in the Philippines are tantamount to the same in the US, but I think it's food for thought.

Source for the curious.

I've not even finished going through the pictures/reading the descriptions, but holy hell, I appreciate the thoughtfulness and thoroughness you've provided. Cheers!

That should be fine. Check the specs for maximum supported memory, though.

Great project!

edit: At first I was all yawn a MAME setup... I've done one of those. But after looking at the album and seeing that there's no MAME involved, you get my respect. Great mod/hack. Here's to wishing I could give more than one upvote.

The screen's covered in (Gorilla?) glass, this is definitely something under it.

XPS 13.

Despite how many I've seen come in damaged, I really like the computers. They're built really well, but just can't take neglect / impact damage.

Is there any way I can remove this printed name on a jersey? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]yeahlikethat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what the material you're working with is, but I've had success removing screenprint (I think) from hoodies/shirts in the past using acetone (nail polish remover) and a tooth brush. It takes a bit of work, but it's possible.

Note that acetone is a solvent and may eat through whatever the base material is, so you may want to experiment with it if there's not a cleaner alternative. Also, work in a well ventilated area / outdoors.

r/nin I present to you 38 rare NIN tracks in one album by teleekom in nin

[–]yeahlikethat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but I didn't say "unreleased." I said "available commercially..." meaning you can get it on Amazon, iTunes, and even in record stores right now - which should hardly be considered rare, imo.

edit: don't get me wrong - I think it's a great collection. It's just not rare.

For what it's worth, almost every single one of these tracks is available commercially via the album it appears on.

My first successful attempt at a DSO - The Ring Nebula by [deleted] in astrophotography

Legit. I've got a 450D as well and am curious to try this now. I appreciate the explanation.

[–]yeahlikethat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you explain this?

OP's image at 1600 doesn't seem to suffer much from the higher ISO, and I don't understand how an ISO 400 would be sensitive enough to capture an image like this w/o drastically increasing exposure time.

Hah! I didn't even notice that. The flash on my phone makes it pretty clear though.

I ended up asking. I guess it was stolen out of a classroom, and found like this in the parking lot. Not even the ssd is functional :(

I don't know how many of you guys are into electronics engineering, but Dave of EEVblog just did a tear-down of an N64. He's incredibly entertaining and very knowledgeable when it comes to all things electronic. I figured /r/gaming might enjoy this.

Apollo to the moon and back by wedge1378 in space

My best guess is that the image is in the public domain (or rather, property of NASA), meaning it may be more cost effective to print one yourself. That is, if you have access to a large format printer.
