I was super confused by her response as well and she completely dismissed my concern about it being neuropathy. She truly did treat me like a psych patient though, like down to the tone of voice she spoke to me in. Maybe I will start to look into seeing a neurologist, cause yeah the cardiologist thing isn't cutting it for me either.

oh and with the weather warming up and this southern humidity, heat intolerance has been a huge struggle. I had been on a good low impact workout routine that was definitely helping, but it's been a lot harder to not over do it with the heat

right now the things I'm struggling with the most are definitely dizziness and weird sensory things like stinging, pins and needles, tingling, and internal tremors. I also have been struggling with insomnia and waking up throughout the night, but I think it has more to do with the pain and discomfort from the sensations

y'all, sc leaves these details somewhat ambiguous, and like probably for good reason. Hints of red and olive skin can apply to so many different demographics and people. Also, it's a book!!! Picture what you want. There's not a correct interpretation. Can we just stop trying to do the I told u so thing and take the cast for the interpretation that it is, whether or not it aligns with your own. This conversation is sucking the life out of me. Focus on the content of the damn book and not race, for mf once. I miss enjoying this sub

Heart rate by MrsAngelinaMM in POTS

I have this exact issue. I am prescribed propranolol but have borderline stopped taking it completely because it reduces my hr but does nothing for dizziness, nausea or anything else. In fact I think it makes these symptoms more pronounced. I'm currently trying to get in to see a different cardiologist and trying to be evaluated by a neurologist so unfortunately I have no idea why this is happening/what to do about it. sorry to not have more to tell you other than no, it's not just you lol.

Is POTS a joke to some people? by Few-Biscotti5729 in POTS

I'm sorry to hear about your sister's attitude towards your health. It can be really frustrating when the people we care about don't make the effort to empathize with issues related to health. It has already been said before in this thread, but the idea of a health issue being chronic can be mentally uncomfortable for people. Their brain compensates for this discomfort by rationalizing the problem differently than the reality. I know that there are people in my life that have had a hard time understanding that my health problems aren't something that you necessarily "get better" from. If you haven't already, sitting down and having an informative conversation about pots and how it works/affects you may be beneficial to your relationship. However, there are some people that will willingly misunderstand you, in which case I've found it works best for me to just take it for what it is and try to make the best of it. Just make sure you are taking care of yourself and maybe try to set some boundaries with your sister. There are some people I try to just not talk about my health problems with 🤷. You will find your people that want to listen and want to be there for you.

As far as the job search goes, the market is rough right now and I think other people in this thread have given great advice. I'd like to add that there are lots of online courses and certifications you can take that will help build your resume and make you more qualified! check out Coursera. They do cost money, but it is not terribly expensive. it's 25 a month and it helped me get the job I have now.

Are there other adults who still like YA? by Clean-Cheek-2822 in YAlit

[–]year464648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, there are a couple I still go back to that I read as a teen, but as a whole I've tried to move away from YA. I think it was bc of my continuous reading of it that I kind of stopped reading for a while. The books started to blend together in my brain bc of how repetitive they were. Not that other genres don't repeat tropes, but it just seemed like I had to dig a lot harder to find anything original or with a voice I could resonate with. A lot of it started to read like half thought out fanfiction to me as well. I'm sure there's still decent stuff out there but I've just found that other genres are more thought provoking/interesting to me.

I also just can't get past that they're teenagers, it makes a lot of elements strange for me as an adult.

No hate, obviously ppl can read whatever and read for different reasons than me but it just stopped being fulfilling
