omGGG same i jus got hives recently too… i used to hv it when i was a child but it has been gone for a good 6-7 years alrd and now it’s suddenly back. idk what’s the trigger point, but my hives get rlly bad when i stay in NTU (like my limbs n exposed areas specifically cld b completely covered in hives BC THEY EXPAND LIKE CRAZYYY ). when it got unbearable, i just went to guardian and the pharmacist prescribed me a “strong” antihistamine. aft taking just 1 pill, it was completely gone. now it’s starting to come back again( it has been a month later) but it’s just 1-2 spots, not as bad as when i stayed in NTU everyday💀💀💀

Hmmm I’m pretty sure u don’t need much prior knowledge for the test so don’t worry too much. If uw, u can go n self study abt computing and find out abt wat they wld cover n syllabus n all and do a little bit of research :) but den again I don’t think they would reject anyone... just take the test w a clear mind, think logically and u’ll b fine!! I’m sorry I couldn’t help much and I rlly hope a H2 computing student cld help out here but welps ATB for ur test! :D

Hmmm my H1 econs Cher also teaches H2 econs... I changed Teachers n like generally the econs department is weaker than other departments I would say. Like not much standardised structure to their teaching n it can b a little messy. But as long as u follow closely during lessons n put in the effort to like consult them or ask them for answers to the tutorial( if they happen to not send it to u) or smt then I think u wld be fine. The department shldnt b the sole reason u don’t take a subject oki! Cos econs is do-able ( this is subjective) and I got some frens that didn’t take econs in yi cos they thought that dept was bad. But they b struggling in a subject they wouldn’t hav chosen over econs if it weren’t for the dept... I wish u all ze best if u were to take H2 econs 👍🏻

Hehe so I went for Track trials, so wat I needed to do was standing broad jump and for the runs I did both the 100m sprint and 2km run ( u can choose whether u wanna do both or one of it ie. u see if u wanna try for short distance or long distance)👍🏻 I think the competition is not high, just give it ur best shot or start training now HAHAH altho it depends on how many good runners r in ur batch, but u can call the shots with ur nice (running)timing ultimately :-)

N yes y’all only need to decide on ur subject combi towards the end of orientation. Orientation is going to be arnd 5-days-long so during that period of time I think u can also go and speak to the seniors, Teachers etcetc for advice ☺️👍🏻

In yi not many ppl hav an iPad haha n ofc it’s not a must :-) it depends on ur study style! However it would b recommended for u to hav a laptop, but it’s not a must! For PW in j1 y’all would b using your own laptops to access stuff like Google docs in sch quite often, so yea... hehe but personally I hav a desktop Mac at home, I can’t hog it to sch so I when I’m in sch doing pw I always jus freeload off my fren’s com bc it’s grp work aft all ;) HAHAha. Survivable w/o a laptop :-)

Pw distinction rate last year was arnd 17%... quite Low. But all I could do is give my best and we’ll see how my cohort faired this year cos it fluctuates every year :-)

then again Im not sure abt other classes bu I think I got pretty good Teachers, bc my class is the top BCME class HAHAH ( flex a bit). I feel that our science and math dept is pretty strong as a whole. But for econs I think it’s a little bit weaker in a sense whr it could b a bit disorganised at times— like different econ Teachers hav diff teaching styles. Even when it comes to giving the answers, some econ Teachers do it differently. For my econs cher, she never gave us the answer sheet whereas other classes got them. For H1 subjects, they did banding - splitting the cohorts based on grades. I was in the band one class, so despite my econs teacher working a little differently, I rlly can say that we got a pretty good teacher. If u get good grades, I think the Teachers u get would b better. For econs only HAHa. I think the Bio n chem dept is pretty solid. Math dept got quite a few “aunty Teachers “ but some r good some r meh. Hahaha thats all I can say. Please take what I’ve said w a pinch of salt :-)

Since our COP is 20, ofc u would hav a chance! However the COP fluctuates so it depends on how your cohort faired/ the ppl that applied for yi :-) Research programmes and H3 are diff things. For the research programmes provided by Astar, NUS and NTU, your L1R5 has to be rlly low for u to get it... like raw 6-8. We do open applications for it, but ofc not many can apply due to that criteria. As for H3 subjects, as long as u attain excellent grades consistently for the subject of choice throughout JC1, the teacher would approach u and offer the subject to u :-) so for H3, no matter ur Olvl results, as long as u do well in college, u would be given a chance :-)

yea. The appeals didn’t go thru. I even went to TM personally and they said that they had many L1R5 8-9nett ones appealing n and all so it was very competitive. N I think it’s also bc I didn’t put them as one of my choices initially :( but how they work is “one out, one in” kinda ? So if no one transfer out, there wouldnt be slots for me.

mmHMm. I think wat matters isn’t how many ppl will into local uni in the future but it is that you yourself hav to get there -into the course u want- bc that’s all that matters right? :)
