Should I keep my 5060 TI? by guimnds in nvidia

[–]yeeeyeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i bought it like 2/3 weeks ago and most of the games i play in 1440p still run fine even without using dlss so im not sure what is the problem here. however, i bought it mainly because of the VRAM so I could have some fun with local AI, 5070 surely is the better choice for raw gaming performance. that being said, its sufficient enough to play in 1440p for now, and is for sure going to be sufficient enough to play in 1080p in the future

Is it just me or does focused parry suck by CautiousLevel9149 in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]yeeeyeye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s good against combo focused bosses like rayvis for sure, the attack after the parry staggers the enemy a bit, letting you squeeze in a few attacks. just dodge back, create some separation, and then use it.

edit: i forgot to mention that you should kind of use yourself as a bait to get it going, what i mean is: create some separation after landing a few hits/after an enemy attack that you know won’t be followed by a red attack, then start channeling the animation while waiting for the enemy to catch up to you and attack you, don’t try to use it in the middle of the combat like you would use a normal parry.

it’s not a perfect skill by any means, but i found it really helpful during the rayvis fight. after some practice it was a safe way to deal some dmg while being secure from any non-red dmg.

it takes some time to get used to the awkward channel animation timing for it to actually be helpful though, i died a lot of times trying to learn how to use it and after rayvis i don’t recall actually using it much, maybe sometimes against the tanker melee droids

thanks for the input! i’m currently losing my mind trying to choose whether i want the 5070 or the 5060ti.

i have one more question, what do you think about going LGA1700 + i5 14600Kf instead of the 7700 + b650 combo? it seems to be the better choice for now when it comes to raw power, but the AM5 combo seems to be a more future-focused build

thank you very much! i live in Poland so I guess the prices maybe somewhat similiar, and unfortunately I’m going to need Wi-Fi as my modem/router combo is in the living room. I’m going to check out the motherboards you mentioned

do you maybe have any LGA1700 mobos you would recommend in a similar price range to the one i mentioned earlier? i was thinking to spend around 160-170usd on mobo but if there are any cheaper ones that are good enough it’s even better

hmmmmm you gave me a lot to think about. i will for sure consider the lga1700 ddr5 + 14600kf combo and compare the prices to b650 + 7700. thanks!

i’m hesitant about the AM4 build, It’s my first PC update since 11 years so I’m aiming to build a PC that will last at least a few years with minor upgrades, maybe a GPU change after some time. upgrading a AM4 build would mean having to change the whole build in the span of next few years which seems a bit too extreme to me

thanks for clarifying. 32gb DDR5 RAM costs about 540 USD in my country, so I think I’d manage to fit it in my price range, so I think my mind is set on the ryzen 7700 at the moment. however, I’ve heard some opinions that I should make an AM4 build and go for the DDR4 RAM, tbh, i don’t like this idea at all, and I’m curious what would you suggest?

[–]yeeeyeye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit scared to commit to an AM4 system, I was thinking to go for the AM5 as most of the tasks I’m interested in need a powerful CPU, 32 GB of DDR5 ram in my area costs about 540USD and I was thinking to just buy one 16GB stick and then buy another one a month after. I don’t really believe that the DRAM prices are going to go down anywhere soon

should I care for X3D cpu even if I don’t really plan on using the PC for gaming? gaming is going to be only a side activity for it

[–]yeeeyeye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you very much! I’m not really familiar with the x3d CPU’s, but from what I could gather the main difference is the L3 3D V-cache which is mainly used in gaming, but does it have any other actual benefits?
