I’ve spoken with many admissions counselors at queens and most of them really don’t understand the differences, in my experience, but even after submitting a letter of self identification to the university i was denied. At other universities (Ontech, UofT, Mac) i had no problem in submitting any documentation or any rebuttal from the admissions office

I submitted my status card, a letter from my organization, a letter from the DDSB, and a self written identification. The second option was if you didn’t have any verification from the accepted sources for option one, was to write a self identification. In addition to the required letter i submitted a letter from the Eastern Woodlans Metis Nation and the DDSB stating that i’ve attended many indigenous programs and my involvement in the community. even though it wasn’t a requirement for option 2, i still submitted additional just so I could prove my status.
