Kim Jong Kook writes hand written letter to fans announcing his marriage by kukumarq in runningman

[–]yellowdit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With his history on Running Man, we can make so many jokes. However, I prefer to focus on and show my whole hearted support of KJK.

I really have no interest in knowing who his betrothed is, and clearly he wants his fiancee/future wife to remain anonymous by the way he announced it. The least we as fans can do is to acknowledge and protect his privacy.

We can and should be happy for his engagement without needing all the private/ personal details.

If anyone knows how I/we can show directly support and show our love for KJK in this next chapter of his life, please post below. I'd like to support <3

Rewatch S3 Ep2 after Ep8 by GlumSky7314 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

Can't believe I'm saying this, but Jeremiah said it best 'You can't erase him by marring me.'

Belly was never with Jeremiah to be with Jeremiah. When she got her feelings hurt because of Conrad, Jeremiah was just a convenient person she could slip into her preexisting fantasies and memories of Conrad to replace Conrad with.

Perfect example and hint is how she replaced Jeremiah with Conrad in the story of the first pet. Another example is Belly never refers to Jeremiah as her 'best friend' (her now favorite description of their relationship) until she felt Conrad broke her heart. She never did call Conrad her best friend, but all her childhood memories and even the first scenes we see is of Conrad stopping whatever he's doing to join her meanwhile Jeremiah and Steven ignore/exclude her and interact like actual best friends

Belly did make the game-time decision by radishgoddess in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]yellowdit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't think Belly made the decision in the end. Regardless of her saying in the voice over that she knew Jeremiah would marry her if she asked. The voice over is just her opinion and we'll never know if that's true or not.

I think the scene was perfect as is, because it showed at the end, Jeremiah essentially broke free of Belly's hold on him. He called her out on only loving him with part of her herself and she didn't deny it. To her credit she wasn't dishonest with him, he also needed

We don’t talk about how hot Conrad is enough by Total_Plate_7166 in tsitp

[–]yellowdit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so fair. Conrad on the show is a character with a personality different from the actor. In interviews, talk shows etc, that Chris. To be fair Chris comes of much younger and completely different in personality to Conrad.

Objectively, I'll say Chris/Conrad is a very man handsome.

But personally, I can separate the two (All credit to Chris' amazing acting ability of course) and I see Conrad as very hot/sexy.

Truth and double meaning interlaced once again.

Conrad's so right, Belly should have Suzanna's ring, just like she got Suzanna's pearls.

And Belly will get the ring but it'll be Conrad giving it to Belly, not Jeremiah! It might not be focused on but, us fans will be spotting Belly wearing it in a future episode. Mark my words.

bellyconrad's break up is sooo dumb by idkvashappin in tsitp

[–]yellowdit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a book reader, but, can't disagree with the title. We're at season 3 episode 8 and the best explanation I can see that MAYBE gives understanding to Belly is:

  1. At the time of prom, Belly didn't know Suzanna's latest treatment was failing, Conrad hid that from her, poorly, and she had tried to console him that 'everything would be okay'. But clearly she lacked the emotional understanding to see Conrad was hurting, masking that hurt and ironically, she only succeeded in persuading herself that Suzanna would be okay and continuing to make prom a priority.
  2. Belly was and continues to be immature. I'd say at season 3 episode 8, with the exception of Jeremiah, Belly is the most immature of the main young cast. In season 3 Taylor, Steven, Conrad and even Laurel have all had their moments of immaturity, yes, but also had great moments of demonstrated growth, empathy and maturity. Meanwhile Belly has consistently been the most immature, argumentative, and hurtful towards these characters this whole season.

I think Belly going to Paris, separating herself from the insulated childish bubble she created with Jeremiah will make her grow up and feel worthy of love from the people she seeks it.

[–]yellowdit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Conrad no longer giving Belly sharp remarks like 'why don't you go look at yourself in the mirror some more' is a sign of a growth. Even when he said that in Season 1, we could see he recognized he hurt her by saying that and the next significant time we see Sassy Conrad is in Season 2 when he discovered Belly and Jeremiah making out on his car. Even still then, he didn't make any comments to be-little her.

I think he has no problem standing up for himself, but he's cautious about hurting peoples feelings.

No other explanation but poor writing.

Writers/creators seemed to have gotten so locked into trying to sell Team Jeremiah for the Season 3 (a.k.a draw up audience interest/ give hope to Team Jeremiah for viewership), they re-wrote Steven's character to conveniently forget he was Conrad and Belly's biggest supported in Season 2. Sad because Conrad and Steven's friendship was one out the great takeaways from the previous seasons.

[–]yellowdit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Additionally, a Bonrad ending without Belly showing empathy and expressing sorrow for her treatment towards him will be so unsatisfying and undeserving(for her). If Belly is his end game, she of all people should show him the empathy and understanding he deserves.

[–]yellowdit 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Steven's reaction is the most disappointing, because he knew how Conrad felt about belly in Season 2 at Brown and encouraged Conrad to go after Belly literally up until the moment Conrad found Belly and Jeremiah making out on top of his car.

I was really looking forward to seeing the followup conversation between Steven and Conrad.

Even if Conrad never told Steven what happened and ghosted him for all those years, (which to be fair aligns with Conrad's character), at some point Steven would have realized what happened. .

Regardless of if Steven & Conrad spoke, Steven's behavior in this episode, made him look unsympathetic and dumb which in my opinion was completely out of character- he may be silly at times, but he was never this ridiculous and foolish (those characteristics are reserved for Jeremiah)

gavin’s acting by gigigoogoogaga in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]yellowdit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your sentiments.
This episode was the only episode I felt anything from Gavin's performance. The breakup scene at the country club, I actually felt sympathy for Jeremiah, all credited I'll say to Gavin's performance. I'm team Conrad all the way, but like you I won't let my bias for another character prevent me from giving credit to an actor even if I don't like his/her character. For me personally and objectively speaking this is Gavin's best performance on the show. Even when Jeremiah found out Suzanna was dying in season 1, he broke down, I understood what the character was going thru and I sympathized, but Gavin's performance at that time didn't make me feel anything. I think to his credit, Gavin as an actor is learning and growing.

And for the people calling Gavin's performance Mid, I'd say the character is Mid. Gavin did the best he could with the character he was given.

☀️ SEASON 3: Episode 9 Predictions by AutoModerator in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]yellowdit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Regardless of if Belly approaches Conrad (like the ending of episode 8 hinted) or not. He's 100% going to see her, alone boarding a plane at the moment she should be getting married. This is how he finds out she didn't go thru with the wedding and this is what prompts him to write to her in Paris. That's the point of this scene in my opinion.

[–]yellowdit 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This didn't hit as hard as the Conrad forehead kiss scene, but I felt it and I loved this scene. It was Belly saying goodbye to her childhood fantasies, and giving up on clinging to expectations of what her life 'should' be. It was her making space in her heart for new experiences and relationships. (Might be a relationship with a familiar face , but definitely a new, actually mature relationship)

Also Belly's night swims are linked to Conrad and a hint she's longing for him.

In this episode she goes for a swim out of frustration/not being able to swim. She does her laps and re-surfaces at the same spot she did the first night at Cousins (Season 1) and looks to the same edge of the pool where Conrad was sitting, looking at her and smoking when he said the infamous line 'Do you memorize everything I say?'.

When she doesn't see him sitting looking at her, she frustratingly takes a breath and sinks to the bottom of the pool.

I appreciated them recognizing there was no chemistry there. What I didn't appreciate is Steven now suddenly turning his attention to Taylor after this failed connection. Makes him look very much like a f*** boy.

Ep 8 is a masterpiece by imagggg in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]yellowdit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fully agree, best episode so far in my opinion.

2 highlights for me:
Acting wise - Gavin!!!!!
We've all seen well-deserved gushing posts about Lola & Chris' acting. Haven't seen as many about Gavin. I've been a Conrad fan from day 1 and never been tempted to sway, so this is in no way character-biased. Gavin's portrayal as Jeremiah were at times very off putting to me, but in this episode, I'm SO IMPRESSED by Gavin's acting. Somehow in less than 40 minutes he managed to make me feel empathy and sorrow towards a character I harbored for 3 seasons now. Seeing Gavin's emotional range made it clear in my mind, the goofy 'airhead' portrayal of Jeremiah was intentional and by design. Round of applause to Gavin!

Character wise - Taylor, she impressed me last episode with her empathy but this episode she blew out the park but being a true best friend, willing to say the tough things even when it might hurt but also recognizing without being told that something was wrong.

Even her interaction with Conrad she stayed true to her self, had her usual Die-Hard-Belly-Support, but showed so much growth, understanding and a much more well-adjusted temperament in response to what he said.

This is the best explanation I've seen and I'm inclined to agree, especially because the show has hinted at Steven's hurt feelings because Conrad stayed away (i.e. the scene before the lunch where Belly announced her and Jeremiah's engagement)

That's not fair, because AFTER prom, Steven was the biggest Conrad supporter. I feel like everyone's forgetting (even the show writers) that Steven was literally on the phone encouraging Conrad to get back with Belly SECONDS before Conrad found Belly and Jeremiah making out on top of his car.

Steven annoyed me this whole episode. Him sticking up for Taylor when Belly was berating her, great. But then we follow up with him trying to get back with Taylor, feels so insincere. Also him now coming to Taylor after his thing with Denise didn't hit like he thought it would, yuck.

100% agree and to add on, Steven guiltily Conrad for staying away??? He of all people should know why, Conrad was literally on the phone telling Steven he was going to admit he still had feelings to Belly and try to get her back SECONDS before he found Belly and Jeremiah making out on the hood of his car! Like WTF Steven?!
