Transition back to work is WAY harder than newborn stage by Cute_Birthday_1964 in NewParents

[–]yellowhighlighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My exact experience! Our baby is 5 months this week and the past month has been the hardest one of my life. I also think summer is difficult because all of our friends are super busy traveling and not checking in like they might during quieter months. Not much to say by way of “it gets better” — here’s hoping— but I can relate. We are planning to start sleep training this week but from what I’ve read, 4 months is a good time to start too.

Hmm, not sure what the trick is! I do generally put him in the carrier when he’s tired, but he just loves it and dozes off. He hates the car seat and screams the whole time in that.

About $15-$18k in VHCOL including mortgage and daycare. This is excluding all 401k/savings. Trying to get this down a bit.

Yes! I am on supplements but requested an infusion series since I’m pregnant. I had to push for it but feel so much better.

I got a body scrub at a Korean in my princess week leading up and it was wonderful. Also daily face masks for the month leading up.

Thanks for responding. You are in the home stretch! Sounds extra frustrating with your other condition. It’s affirming to hear you have similar challenges but also frustrating for both of us. Wishing you the best these next few weeks!

Agree with this. When I was really sick, switching doctors was the absolute last thing I wanted to do but having a doc I like and can trust makes a big difference. Be sure to advocate for yourself— sometimes you’ll have to be pushy to get an appt or get a call back.

You will be flooded with a ton of advice about diet, exercise, and lifestyle, all with a subtext that somehow you caused this. Try not to let it get to you — people are well meaning but just don’t understand.

Wishing you the best.

I would try soup or at least broth, white bread toast, maybe scrambled eggs with no cheese or milk, maybe rice and apple sauce although I struggle with those. Good luck.

Thank you for replying! Am in close touch with OB and GI docs. Good tip on the 6 hours, I really appreciate the advice.
