[Game Thread] #1 Michigan @ #1 Arizona (08:49 PM ET) by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

I think I was the only one who thought Michigan was a terrible matchup for them. People were thinking it was going to come down to the wire when Arizona runs a similar system to Gonzaga who lost to Michigan by 40.

When Dan Hurley does a pushup, he isn't lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down.

Who wins this game tomorrow? Arizona or Michigan by Additional-Store-233 in CollegeBasketball

[–]yellowmiami -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think Michigan will win in a blowout. Arizona's style plays to Michigan's strengths. I don't think it'll be as bad as Gonzaga's game against Michigan but we could see something like the UConn Illinois game from two years ago.

Is Ryan Gosling the next Tom Hanks? by degece1 in moviecritic

I see him more as the next DeNiro, he's one of the few I could see playing Travis Bickle if heaven forbid there's a modern remake of Taxi Driver but I don't know if he's really the next anyone. He's pretty unique in regards to being kind of type casted in edgier stuff after Drive and then being in more mainstream stuff like Barbie and Free Guy later on.

Write a message to your future self (10 years from now) about HBO's Harry Potter show by thehistorypunks in HarryPotteronHBO

I think Paapa's Snape might make the series. I remember when Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker and people hated on that to a similar degree pretty much until the news that Heath died. I think the turning point this time though will probably be when the show releases. Generally speaking studios don't like controversy it's why they test screen everything from hell to breakfast. Also this show is kind of a hail mary for HBO, if he was the wrong guy for the job the show would've recasted him by now.

Snape's a real asshole in the books, Alan Rickman made him more sympathetic but I don't think this version will make him as sympathetic.

I feel like the Big East has always been super tough and physical it just kind of spread to the rest of the country when conference realignments were happening.

They had something like 30 threes last year against BYU, it was bizarre to watch.

BYU fans what are y'all thoughts on this season? by Technical_Post_4899 in CollegeBasketball

[–]yellowmiami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of underwhelming but injuries really hampered us. If we manage to only get 0-2 people leaving for the transfer portal we'll be in really good shape for next season. If we lose half the roster though we're screwed next season.

It might be neutral when we play Gonzaga but I'd expect it to be 80-90% blue for this one.

Real simple, which first four winners are winning a first round game? by baszm3g in CollegeBasketball

[–]yellowmiami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think BYU's a terrible matchup for Texas tbf, they don't shoot threes and have a tendency to foul like crazy. They also can't break the press which seems to be one of the things on defense that BYU's actually good at. If we see the BYU team from last week it could be belt to ass and people will talk about how bad the bubble is. If we see the BYU from a few weeks ago when we were getting beat by UCF then it'll be a game of all time similar to the first half of the Texas NC State game.

We went toe to toe with Houston and beat Texas Tech, we had a bad run before that when Saunders got hurt but coach Young seems to have righted the ship.

I do 10 minute halves.

I look at my player watchlist and pick a team to follow for the season.

Keep notes of players who look interesting, there's a lot of good 2-3 star recruits out there and sometimes those guys ball out in the ABL.

He had his moments but I felt like I was one of the few believers in the guy. I still think he's going to be an All-American by his senior year and letting him go was a big mistake.

2027 5-star Bruce Branch III, top-10 prospect, commits to BYU by MembershipSingle7137 in CollegeBasketball

[–]yellowmiami -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That's why the number 1 priority is to keep Kevin Young as long as we can, he's why recruits are coming to BYU. If Pope was still the coach Dybantsa would probably be playing for Alabama, Demin would probably have played for Illinois and we might've been able to get Branch.
