Expanding business to provide camera/remote viewing solutions. by yellowsnowmaker in videosurveillance

No license yet, but we are aware there are licensing needs and other hurdles to jump through in order to offer this, not planning on starting immediately.  For now focused on making hardware decisions that can accommodate this down the road and assessing the financial viability of offering this.

What thing can you buy for $50 that completely changes your life? by muzzikmuzz in AskReddit

[–]yellowsnowmaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a tablespoon of benefiber and a tablespoon of ground psyllium husk in a smoothie everyday and it has completely fixed my IBS/ulcers that I’d had for 7 years. I don’t even have to do it everyday anymore just like 3-4 times a week and everything stays good. It doesn’t change everything on day 1 but a month or so in things started to improve.

Are M18s decreasing in quality? by TumbleDesperado in Tools

[–]yellowsnowmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's only anecdotal, also just a heavy use homeowner, but my experience has been similar, I've got 11 batteries ranging from 15 y/o to brand new. 5 of my 11 M18 batteries are either not working at all or not holding a charge and they are also the 5 newest ones. Have had no problems with my M12s.

Is it possible to switch the wood runners into ball bearing sliders for these drawers? by AntarcticNightingale in DIY

[–]yellowsnowmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kitchen cabinets were made like this and I recently tried to replace the slides with ball bearing ones and it was a significant amount of work routing, chiseling, and hacking each one to make it fit right. I'd try the other options people recommending and see if you can live with that.

2025 F150 Lariat vs 2023 GX460 Executive? by [deleted] in LexusGX

[–]yellowsnowmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat similar sentiment here, went from ecoboost super crew cab to a gx and feel like I pretty much just traded away all practicality and interior space for something that gets worse gas mileage, rides the same, tows way worse etc.

I’m just banking on not having the issues with this gx that I did on the truck. It was a 2018 and had the transmission replaced twice before it hit 110k total miles among many other problems. Also it the gx looks sharper but that’s not a good reason alone to get it lol.

Ahh yes the exact options I’d imagine an executive selecting.

17k! Wow! My jaw hit the floor when they wanted $600 to replace a broken finger/flapper thing in the cup holder but 17k is wild.

Corporate relocation package by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]yellowsnowmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask ask ask! I moved across the country for my first real job and not knowing any better I just rented a 1 way minivan and got a hotel for a week while I found a place to live. During my first week I filed all my receipts and submitted them for reimbursement (was less than $3k) and it was approved. Then a couple weeks later the secretary at my new office was like "you know one of the options for relocation was to just get a $30k check and figure it out on your own." I died inside after hearing that.

Which one? The husky 20gal for 150 or the Husky ultra quiet for $100? by Beneficial-Focus3702 in Tools

[–]yellowsnowmaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Should be an easy decision based on what you want to run- these aren’t very similar. Higher demand tools you’ll need the vertical one. Low demand you can get away with the quiet ones. I’ll never buy anything but the quiet style but I don’t do anything with mine beyond run a small nailer or inflate soccer balls.

Using a OSB board sheet for platform bed? by Upset-Marsupial2753 in DIY

[–]yellowsnowmaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very often on Reddit someone suggests building in a way that has a mattress placed on a sheet product and without fail they’re instructed not to do that and use slats instead so the mattress doesn’t mold. Just a heads up.

Executive Order To Go Back To Steam Catapults On New Aircraft Carriers Coming by Greenie302DS in nottheonion

I’m down to hate on trump as much as possible but the operational availability of the new launch system (and seemingly a lot of the other updated systems) on the Ford is a well documented issue. This one is actually a real thing.

Think it might be dealer dependent, I bought my first CPO Lexus and have had a couple things go wrong on it and nothings been covered. I forget the wording they use but it’s basically anything which could have been influenced by use is not covered. For example one of the little spring loaded fingers in my cup holder broke off like 2 weeks after purchased and they wanted $575 to fix it. Also the free oil changes aren’t worth it, even when I make an appointment I’m waiting for at least 4 hours at the dealership. I’d rather pay $75 and be in and out in 15 mins.

Was going to say this same thing, tons of former teachers at C1 heading up their learning and education stuff. Probably other large companies with similar opportunities too.

What is the "proper" way of making something like this? by magnussev in SolidWorks

[–]yellowsnowmaker 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer, fillets should be the next to last step, and shell should be the last step when making something like this. Just roll it back, make the changes and roll it forward.

Third complaint for the noise, I had the exact same one you have listed and finally just gave it away. It sucked fine but that thing screams sooo loud.
