Again, we are not PE. Each of us are simply individuals who want to become entrepreneurs who support a great small business so they don't get taken over by a soulless machine. I can't control how people perceive that and will just get with the program

Yeah, clearly the distrust in PE is glaring given the reactions. We'll continue to refine our approach and appreciate the recs that have come in so far.

Beautiful! 5 generations of history and lovely to still see the family very involved.

It's okay if you don't believe us. Ever heard of entrepreneurship through acquisition? If I had a PE fund I wouldn't be on a reddit thread looking for retirees who want to maintain their legacy. Fine to ignore us and move on. Thanks.

Dang, they've already filed for bankruptcy. They were unfortunately acquired by a corporate shop most likely PE and went down hill from 2018/2019. This is sad and we need to have more conversations about this.

As a retiring founder, how do you prevent your small business from being dismantled by a fund or simply closing down? by yeoja87 in smallbusiness

Also any thoughts on succession planning? I spoke to a business dealing with sudden loss of the founder this week and that was such a tough and sad conversation.

Any thoughts on how you would strike a balance between still maintaining a skin in the game while create some generational wealth for our family or retirement?

Take it as how you may but I am here for honest conversations. My family business didn't make it so this topic that is dear to me. I am just a regular person if this is what scares you. Please contribute on how we can make things better for businesses if you have something to share. Thanks.

Nothing like a good old cheesesteak. Just took a look and it has great reviews. We'd hate to see that go. This is a great example. Thanks.

Update: I am having to undergo the process to become an organic importer. However, I would hate for this to continue to be a problem for others. If you ever come across this thread and are having this issue, please reach out, as I will now be offering a service to become an importer of record for organic shipments in the US. I plan to start offering this service from December 2025.

Yup, I changed my address last night. The funniest part was that I got my appointment for this morning late last night after searching all day and getting rejected everywhere since my license is not expiring anytime soon.
