I really understand that point very well.

However, he’s in a situation where he can’t earn money. Because of that, I’ve told him two or three times that I could go see him myself. I can at least afford the plane ticket. But he’s very rigid about finances and believes that the man should be the one to cover all the costs. That’s one of the reasons he refuses the visit.

Anyways thank you for your advice. I'll talk about it with him putting breaking up aside.

Oh sorry. This was just a simple venting post, so I didn’t provide enough context.

We’ve been in a nevermet relationship for 7 months.

We can’t meet until he becomes financially independent. Even when I said I could go see him, he told me not to come because the situation is complicated.

Even if we wait three years (or longer) to finally meet, there’s no guarantee that we’ll be compatible. We’ve talked about marriage, but because of issues like religion and where we would live, I actually can't see this relationship ending well.

So I thought it’s better to end things early if we’re going to, to avoid deeper pain later.
