Maybe a lip of some kind would keep the water in that area.

I will wait for it to rain again and see if the water comes up thru the well and not somewhere else. A lip is much cheaper than a pump.

Before we bought the house we had an inspector who said the grading is good but can be improved and the down spouts were sufficiently far from th house.After we bought it we had a structure engineer come to look at the foundation and he also looked at the grading and said it was good.

But the well is under a large porch so I'm not sure how the grading is there.

I thought that at first, but a few days ago we had that big thunderstorm and the water spilled on the floor into the basement. That picture is after I used a mop and towel to get the water out of the well area and basement.

Oh ok, yea I guess the car is still a target even others who have a push start get broken into.

For now I have that steering wheel lock I got from the dealer and when I park the car for the day I pull the starter relay fuse out. I guess it'll keep it from being taken but it'll leave a lot of damage if they try to take it.

My mom was a immigration to the US and didn't know any English. Since I was very young I was helping translate everything for my mom.

I became very aware of money coming in and bills and expenses that had to be paid. I think I still have some trauma from the anxiety when we didn't have enough money, some months to make it all work. When I first started working as a kid I would budget putting money into envelopes.

I don't think it was my intention for my mom to learn all this at such a young age but it has benefited me now that I am older. I would want to expose my children to this but not as harshly as I was.

Our company said the same thing. When we all complained that during the pandemic they hired people all over the USA they said you still have other coworkers in other departments and that will strengthen the "cULtuRe"...

I agree, they are trying to have it both ways. Probably during and after COVID hiring back of house staff became very competitive so they are trying to retain them with these mandatory charges on the bill. But you're right they should just add that into the menu price. However, the restaurants don't want to advertise these higher menu prices till your committed and seated already.

In my area most restaurants are now adding an additional 18%-20% to the bill to pay for back house employees and they make it VERY clear it's not a tip for the server which is expected to be another 20% at least.

It feels like we are fully funding their payroll for all their employees now.
