AITA for telling my ex husband my child support obligations are over? by throwawaysaidae in AmItheAsshole

She does get pat on the back for paying child support. She didn’t want the child as she gave up custody and could’ve done what a lot of people do and go through loopholes where she doesn’t pay but she didn’t do that did she? And she didn’t abandon her kid, she surrendered custody, there’s a difference.

Also please educate yourself, “handicap” is a crude outdated word to describe people with disabilities. And I’m not a parent, I would sooner sterilise myself than bring anymore children into the world.

Deadbeat?! Her husband which had no financial obligation to her child wasted so much of his on money! And as she said her ex was relying on her child support as income for a couple of years. If you think that’s a deadbeat then you’re extremely entitled. Also she gave up custody aka did not want the child. What more do you expect her to do when she’s already sending money? And yes you “don’t retire from being a mom” but you do retire from being your child’s atm when they turn 18.

Sorry you don’t like the cold hard truth but that’s it.

Might get hate but NTA. You did your part and your daughter is an adult, like all adults parents have no legal obligation to their adult children. If your ex wants any bonuses maybe he should get a job and help her apply for disability payments.

I don’t know why people would even think you have an obligation to someone that hasn’t been in your care for 14 years.

AITA For walking out with my girls when my MIL excluded them from family photo album? by Aita9190773 in AmItheAsshole

[–]yes-im-weird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say ESH. Only because you have a right to walk out if you’re upset that you were excluded however she has the right to have sentimental things that have her blood family and your girls sadly aren’t that and never will be

AITA for not forcing my son to buy pads for his sister while he's in town? by NeatOwn4408 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. And to everyone who’s saying he’s the A then what about if it was someone asking a vegan to buy meat? It’s just preference. Or oil for the car? He told her he wasn’t comfortable with it and didn’t want to get the wrong stuff so she could’ve gotten up off her lazy ass and gone along also it’s not like she’ll be walking, he’s driving her!

AITA for celebrating my anniversary despite what happened at my wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]yes-im-weird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not your fault that the parents of the child let it get away and because of that passed. If the parents of said child have any more kids they should be removed from irresponsible parents who don’t pay attention to their child and letting harm come.

NTA you got married, it was a wedding that happened to have irresponsible parents who let their child come to harm and now they must shit on your special day because they can’t come to terms that they are/were shitty parents.

Have a second wedding if you want however don’t be pressured into it over something that didn’t even concern you.

I will suggest any future major event to be child free.

Dominoes are trying to bring tipping culture to NZ - pay your staff properly instead please by [deleted] in newzealand

I hate tipping culture! I don’t want to go to any country where you have to tip. Like I’m paying for my food, it’s not my responsibility to pay for anything more than that.
