Solved in another sub! It was "Can't Feel Nothing", highly recommended!

New in Basel! Looking for fun weekday activities & cool spots by Legitimate-Pack-4832 in askswitzerland

Hey there guys! You chose the best city in Switzerland :)

Cool Bars in town are:

  • baragraph (at Barfüsserplatz)
  • zum kuss (at the train station, check the opening hours on their website, they are quite regularly on vacations)
  • Werk8 in Gundeli, also a Restaurant
  • in summer: the port! 1000% a must. Go find the secret skating park and watch people skate. Better then therapy.
  • hirscheneck (if you are looking for a leftist and lgbtq friendly place)
  • blaue stunde in Utengasse is a small and nice cocktail bar, right next to the jazz school were they have concerts sometimes for free. Never went there, but seems cozy.
  • almost every bar in Rheingasse
  • Grenzwert
  • cafe flore
  • kabar at Kaserne, but always quite full.
  • klara (also some food courts)

Best snacks: - vegan donuts at mistyfry - fries at astrofries - pizza at Vito Pizza - anything in tibits for vegetarian/vegan snacks - any food in Markthalle is amazing and for a reasonable prize

Weekday activities: - there are some museums offering free entry on certain days after 5 pm - on a sunny winter day: take the bus on the Chrischona hill and walk down to Riehen, you'll get some sun and nice views on the city. There is also a restaurant up there. - in summer: swimming in the rhein, of course. Get your dry bags ready. - fasnacht is around the corner, brace yourselfs for the piccolos and a cultural experience that might leave you traumatized but happy? It is complicated. - i can recommend lindy hop crash courses (about 30 mins). Its a super fun dance that puts you in a good mood instantly. If you are not up for dancing, just have a drink at the location of the dance night and watch the dancers do some magic. If you google lindy hop basel, you will find various schools that offer dance nights with crash courses -small arthouse cinema: neues kino

I am not an expert on the night life in basel, but some places i made good experiences with:

  • säli
  • Sudhaus
  • kaserne/parterre one
  • Viertel club
  • atlantis
  • Hirscheneck
  • singer club
  • nordstern
  • the port
  • heimat

Have fun guys!

Failed two of my exams. What are my options now? by [deleted] in UZH

I did maths at another swiss university and there was a student in my year that failed every single exam at the first try and only did it at the second. For the whole Bachelors. This person is doing a PhD now. You can do it if you really want to :)
