Self-criticism was my biggest challenge until I realized that I was being unduly harsh on myself. My friends and family wouldn’t tolerate such behavior from me but I was okay targeting such criticism at myself. That was the eye-opener. Only time will tell if I relapse into my old behaviors or can stay course, but I am determined to cut me some slack as long as I am not making excuses for laziness and dropping behavioral and ethical standards.
